Killing spider mites with soapy water dunk.

After much experience with mitacides,I have been looking for a cheaper,more effective way of eliminating the little beasts. I'm exparamenting with soap right now and will move on to test mineral redox water aswell as kangen water.

First up to bat is a 40 gal trash can filled with soapy water.
Plants were submerged for 10-30 minutes an then rinsed off with clean water.
I used tap water and did not ph it.
I see zero mites as of 120 minutes after doing this.
I will do the same thing with kangen water at various phs tomorow and see how it compares.
Anyone else DUNK like this ?
I don't care If u spray,I am only interested in people who dunk large plants.

Give it two weeks.....they'll be back. Weekly soapy baths will really help keep the population down. Once my plants get into flowering, dunking is not practical. That's when I switch off to "Nuke Em', the only thing that ever fully worked for me.

I find it easiest to use Azamax and a spray bottle . Safe for plants. BING or GOOGLE it.

I am dunking all vegitive plants no flowering plants.
I use floromite ,azamx and avid regularly and just testing other non toxic methods out for my own amusement .
The mighty wash had unexpected results with dunking it actually works?! So I did a bit of googling and found frequency water products and this came up http://www.water-prox.com/mineral_redox_right.htm if this kills mites I am interested as it mentions it can be used as a nute replacement ( not that I would fully replace nutes but interesting) my friend bought into the kangen water hype and I figured I would give it a try aswell at various phs as its free and I'm curious.
I will avid every cutting and vegitive plant as a protective measure but the benefits to less harsh chems are there, I read a thread on folkes submersing mite infested plants for 60 minutes in a bathtub and having good results,I am interested in any feedback any of you have had with long submersion of plants under water

No it doesn't work. All your doing is killing the existing mites , not the eggs or the cycle. Miticide , regular vacuuming and if you've been in the outside garden don't go in there until you change shoes and clothes and shower.

I read a study by MIT on spider mites, almost impossible to get rid of them.
They can hibernate for years, and it just takes one to start the infestation going again.

OP- I would spray my plants with water, all over, under the leafs every day.
It keeps the mites down, and the plants seem to like the bath.
You don't want to be spraying chemicals in flower.
That's why I like to use water.

I use neem oil, it is cheap and organic and in my opinion better. it works by suffocating them, you do have to come back through in a couple of days for the newly hatched eggs. But definitely the best way to keep them down is shower before you enter the room.
