Kinds Of Marijuana

Thought this might help someone.

There are many types or strains of marijuana, however they basically fit into two categories; Indica and Sativa. Breeders will often cross strains to change the growing or properties of the original.
As a rule of thumb, generally Indicas tend to be shorter, stockier plants with smaller, denser and smellier buds. Indicas also flower much faster than Sativas, usually with a 6-9 week flowering period. Sativas will grow taller and generally much bigger. Buds will also be bigger but less dense. Sativa buds will also be less smelly and take longer to flower than Indicas, usually 9-10 weeks.
Choosing types of marijuana for a garden will depend on many factors, not least what you expect of the end product. Marijuana strains are often a cross of Sativa and Indica to give properties of each i.e. to make certain Sativa smaller and more potent, or an Indica larger and with bigger buds. As far as the high is concerned, Sativas will tend to produce more of a cerebral, energetic or giggly high, while Indicas produce more of a body stoned, known to enhance physical aspects such as sound and taste and can also have a relaxing effect.

Okay, I have something that I don't know yet and need some clarification. Rather noob question but going from just a smoker to a grower this question has came up.

What is the definition of "schwag".

1) Is it a indica or sativa ?

2) Is there actually a strain name for it?

3) Or is the strain name schwag, dirt weed, hermies, bag seeds all the same thing or no? (I'm assuming they are from the context that I've learned the words through)

4) Do the female schwag plants actually flower or produce buds?

5) If you take seeds from a bag of schwag and grow them in the best conditions possible. (e.g. proper ph levels, ample light, proper nutrients, etc etc.) Will the plants be better?

I've read somewhere that you can actually take a schwag plant and develop it into a decent strain.

6) Is most of the "schwag" bags of weed bought generally grown outside or inside? or does it depend on where you're from ?

Any other information or links relevant to this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mr. Bud

Okay, I have something that I don't know yet and need some clarification. Rather noob question but going from just a smoker to a grower this question has came up.

What is the definition of "schwag".

1) Is it a indica or sativa ?
Indica and Sativa are the species of weed. Each one giving a different type of high.
Indica: Body high, plant is short and dense, yields more bud.
Sativa: A nice clear head high, plants are taller and the buds are packed but yield is lower compared to indica.

2) Is there actually a strain name for it?
Strains like White Widow are mixes of the two and are given fancy names so we can tell them apart from kush and stuff. Because some strains may contain 25% indica genes and 70% sativa, 50% indica 50% sativa etc.
A pure bread for example, is haze (sativa).

3) Or is the strain name schwag, dirt weed, hermies, bag seeds all the same thing or no? (I'm assuming they are from the context that I've learned the words through)
Schwag and dirt weed are the same thing, just low quality weed.
Hermies are weed plants with both male and female traits, similar to human hermaphrodites. This weed is low quality because it has many seeds and once a female plant is pollinated it will stop producing THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
And Bag seed is weed of unknown origin. As in unknown genetics, it could be indica or sativa or a mix, no one knows for sure.

4) Do the female schwag plants actually flower or produce buds?
There is no such thing as a schwag plant. Its the quality of the weed that is schwag. Like if some one took the crystals off the bud and compacted the leftovers into a brick. Thats schwag.

5) If you take seeds from a bag of schwag and grow them in the best conditions possible. (e.g. proper ph levels, ample light, proper nutrients, etc etc.) Will the plants be better?
Yes.
These seeds are called "bagseeds"
My seeds were from schwag, and it has a great high!

I've read somewhere that you can actually take a schwag plant and develop it into a decent strain.
And again, there is no such thing as a "schwag plant"
You can do this with bagseeds. I think FFD has done that.

6) Is most of the "schwag" bags of weed bought generally grown outside or inside? or does it depend on where you're from ?
No such thing as a schwag plant.

It's good to have both...the wife and I have a jar for "Sleepy time" and one for "Fun Time". Indica and Sativa respectively.
I do try to stay away from Indicas, because I hate, hate, hate couchlock. Don't get me wrong, I've been with a few Indicas in my day that got the party started and all...but I like to be high, not stoned.

I smoke both so it really doesn't matter to me.... What ever I have is what I smoke....
Me too.. Its kinda scummy but that's how I role.. Pretty much the same with caffine and alcohol.. I just want the high or the low and I really don't care to much what modality or brand I use... Hahaha. But I don't do much alcohol or cofffee or even weed for that matter
