Cluld one hook a touchscreen to the RPI and use it as a standalone grow room controller. So the whole software runs from the RPI and keeps logs on the sd card (software also running from the card). I got a problem getting wifi where my grow is and am afraid it wouldn't work without. But I could always download logs from the RPI via Bluetooth.

I'm also guessing controlling 2 different rooms should work just fine with this one? Veg and flower, different light cycles and different feeding schedules.
To configure the RPI, it must be connected to internet. But after, if the RPI isn't connected anymore to the internet, it will keep the old config until it get connected again. You won't be able to see the log though.

That would work to some degree. But could it be setup later from the phone or any other android/ios device. Say changing light cycles and feeding schedules or would I have to unhook it everytime and take it somwhere where I have acces to the internet? Could it be done from the phone that is connected to the internet and upload settings via bluetooth?

The Cheapest is not an option anymore today because of the environment...
Hey thanks for getting back, I was curious if your choice had anything to do with some measure of maintaining integrity of intellectual property? Sometimes I'm dense and you have to spell it out exactly for me lol, but your decision boiled down predominantly to environmental reasons(?), as in global warming?

I got bored of waiting and im now in touch with the guys at trolmaster. Pretty sure its gonna cost me more but they have a device for everything. Wanna see if the next grow we setup we can get individual pots on auto watering with some solenoid valves.

imho trolmaster is only worth it when you also use ac and dehumidifier, i rely on my ec fan for temp control, could have used those 0-10 dimming options

If you use extraction for environment the look at the ac infinity line. They do temp/hum, day/night settings and perform really well i hear. I you still want the logging there are several amazon options for temp/rh by wifi.

i use a carbon active silent box ec and a can fan branded gse controller. i already have day/night settings and everything. but i want more, needs to be smart, not just a dumb device i need to be in front of to change any setting.

looks like i just need to invest time and a lot of thinking to build my own controller with mycodo.
