It depends on the plant. Everything on the bottle is pretty much gibberish, but it does say the recommended dose for "soft, tender" plants is 1ml/60L or ~1 drop/gal. This shit fkin works!! I've been reading about it and EVERYONE says it works miracles, so I tried it and it's true. I put ~1 drop in ~4 gallons, dumped the tray, and then re-soaked the cubes. This morning, I got one that shot up about 3" and is already showing true leaves. Last night, it wasn't even protruding out of the cube. Now, most of them are about to break out, the wilted one completely looped itself and is looking much better, but probably won't make it unless one of you guys has a solution for a looped little seedling with a 1/4" of the stem being shriveled up. Oh, and my PH was @ 6.7 yesterday... I fixed it, but didn't wait for it to settle before using because I was eager to get the superthrive on em' and this morning, it was back @ 6.5. Should I re-soak the cubes with PH balanced water, or should I just let them run their course?loopy baby2.JPGbaby.JPGloopy baby.JPG

Seriously though, it's 1/4 tsp per gallon (roughly 1ml), here's the label: http://www.superthrive.com/vi_art/gal2.gif

What you're seeing is completely normal growth for seedlings, though your seedlings look like the root is actually pushing the cotyledons up which is not good. You want your root to dig into your medium so you may have some issues there with #1 and #3. Good luck.

I know it says 1/4 tsp/gallon under Quantity, but that's for hearty shrubs & trees. If you read directly below that, it'll tell you that for "soft, tender" plants you should use 1ml/60L and from everything I've read about people using it for growing bud, they've all said to use 1 drop/gallon or you'll kill them, especially during the first couple weeks. Maybe after that, you could try more, but I wouldn't use it past week two because I've heard it causes stretching and horrible things to happen during flowering. You could try the recommended dosage, but I've seen several reports of people killing their plants with that dose.

Superthrive is more or less 'super jive' as it's benefits over plain water are marginal at best. I have a very hard time believing anyone could kill anything with that stuff. I used to use it around cloning time, 1ml/gal. I sometimes would see roots 1 or 2 days quicker than when I used tap water but the root growth was no different than normal. I now use KLN at cloning time with clonex and often times I'll see more roots, healthier roots up to 4 days quicker than with plain water:

In regards to using superthrive on seeds, it's simply not needed. As long as your medium and environment is desirable (warm, moist and humid), the seed itself supplies the plant inside with everything it needs to grow a healthy seedling.

Just be careful where you're pulling your info from. You're quoting other cannabis boards and canna forums are generally a poor place to get quality advice from educated individuals. My apologies for the OT posts here as this journal is about your strains, not what products you chose to use. I'm excited to see how your Columbian Golds develop.

Na, that's not OT. I appreciate the info; that's good to know. I might try 1ml/gal on one when they get bigger to see if it makes a difference. I don't really care enough about superthrive to continue using it through veg, but I might just add it to my germination regimen since this 4oz bottle will last me for at least a couple years. But yea, here are some pics of the babies! They've grown ~1" since midnight last night. I decided to bury the white part of the stem under some rockwool. I think that part is supposed to be root. We shall soon find out if I made a big mistake or not.

So yesterday I tried to track my package because they told me it's been shipped on the 4th. No sign of it.... I sent the seller message and they replied with, "We're going to have to file a claim with fed-ex"
They aren't open yet, but I'm not getting off the phone until they send me a new light or refund my money.

Very disheartening....

Mkay, I spoke to a manager over there and he's shipping another one out today. Whew... That worked out beautifully. I've heard horror stories of customer service over there, but they treated me pretty good and seem to be resolving the problem.

I'm kinda bummed. Out of the 5 CG and the 3 Tahoe, 4 of the CG popped and only 1 of the Tahoe did. If that Tahoe OG comes back male, I doubt I'll ever buy from Cali Connection again. I'm probably going to go back to the tried and true napkin method and start germing a couple SSH x C99 I got from a breeder to make sure I have at least 4 girls after sexing.

These are my wonderful girls as of Saturday. I topped z C-Golds yesterday @ the third node. I popped a Lavender, Mkage, 2 Super Silver Haze x C99, and an El Alquimista, all of which are feminized so I can be certain I'll have a minimum of 4 girly gals. The Tahoe OG and CGs are regs.

Just an update. All the seeds from the above post have made it out of the rockwool xcept for one of the SSHxc99 because I simply haven't checked it since yesterday, but I'd bet she's ready for light, too.

Ok, I have a serious question that I would like an answer to as soon as possible. Can someone tell me how to safely grow seedlings in FFOF? Keep in mind that I have very little

experience growing and the only experience I do have is with hydro. I managed to get one of my plants to do ok in the soil, but everything since I've burned to death. They're in rockwool cubes in a humidifier. At what point should I transplant them into the soil? If anything, what should I mix into the soil and what ratio? I don't have enough room to grow 6 dwc, but it'd be alright to do 4 in dwc and 2 soil, right? Sorry about all the ?'s. I just don't know what I'm doing w/ soil. If there's anything else I need to know about soil that's drastically different, please share.

I have never used that soil before ( i make my own organic soil mix ), but i have read that it is "hot". What you will want to do is grow the seedling in a mix that is not so hot. you can mix 50% peat moss and 50% pearlite together with 1 cup per cubic foot dolomite lime, then mix that 50/50 or 75%peat-pearlite/25% FFOF, plant in a small container, such as a 3 or 4 inch pot. When it is ready to transplant, plant it in pure FFOF, by that time the plant should be able to handle it.

Thank you, sir. I went with subcools recommended 2:1 FFOF:Light Warrior to cool down the FFOF. I tried to put light warrior around the transplant area just to be extra sure I won't burn em'. I'll put some pics up later this afternoon. They're gettin' bigger every day, now!

Thanks! The two taller ones are, but the fat lil' short one is supposedly a 60/40 cross. I think it's got more indica in it, though. It's CC-Buddha Tahoe OG from Singleseedcentre.com <----- I've heard there's different variations of this strain depending on where you buy it? Idk, tho.

I don't know what your plans are in regards to cloning these or just growing them out but usually landrace or heirloom genetics have a vigor like nothing you've seen before. Landrace vigor with hydro? I hope you have 15 foot ceilings ;). Seriously though, those might get really big, keep that in mind when you're deciding when to flower them.

I knowwwww!! I'm soooo frightened of what going to happen, but I've started supercropping them, FIM'd em' twice, I'm topping them again @ the next node, and then they'll hit the SCROG. Hopefully, this'll slow them down a bit. Oh, and I've got ~ 9' in there from the floor to ceiling. I think I can buy an extension if I need it for another foot or two, but that'll be about all the room I have in my apartment.

The one in the rockwool cube is Mkage and idk what to do. I've never really been that great at reviving baby seedlings and she's all burned up. I put her in the 2:1 FFOF:Light Warrior mix with a little extra light warrior on top and surrounding the cube, but she still started to wither almost immediately. I took her out, rinsed and put her in that container w/ ~1/2" of RO water to try to flush her.

What u got the dials set at?? all 3 set at max 10?
Dialz.JPG

I actually called the folks @ Lumigrow to find out what the optimum dial settings for vegging a cannabis plant are and the girl that answered the phone said to crank all of em' all the way up. I told her that didn't seem right and what would be the point of having an adjustable spectrum if you're not gonna use it, so she consulted with one of her co-workers and he said to put em' all at 10, too. Apparently, some plants are more sensitive to specific spectrums than others and that's what the dials are for, but I still decided to go against their advice and turn the red down... It's @ 5 here, but I usually have it around 3
