I'm going as we have already discussed, should be a great time. I've never been to something like this so I'm not sure what to expect but I'm super stoked to get to go! I'm hoping I can pick up some genetics while I'm out there.
Fuck yea, dude. I'm so glad I read your post; I just assumed it was in Amsterdam, like always. I'm gonna try to grab some beans and some glass up there. I bet there are some wicked pieces.

Sheck out mah first budz!!! These are @ ~30 days of 12/12. The El Alquimista(NLxAK47) should finish in about 4 more weeks and the SSHxC99 has ~6wks left.

Hey garg,

Thanks for stopping by my garden.

Just wanted to point out that I am running a freebie Alquimista as well, and eagerly watching yours as mine is still in its vegetative state.

Update 2.4.13

Colombian Gold#1 - She's now the only CG in my garden. Her sister was chopped because I needed to make room :-/ Sad, but I think it was best. Now, she gets a 110lpm pump and the Lumigrow all to herself!

Lavender - No signs of resin yet :cuss:

El Alquimista - This bitch is crazy. I can't believe she got this big.

SSH x C99 - I think I would've gotten better yields with one plant instead of putting 2 in the same bucket. I'm always learning something new.

some good heads in this thread GG, knowledge is power n all that ;)

how much more room height wise have you got?? i did my columbian blacks 12/12 from the go almost and had to train them across the tent horizontally. i'll dig the pics out.stoked to see you've got a better pheno than the two i got.

laters man

Thanks! I'm super fuckin' excited. I put one of the ladies in soil (Lavender) and, being my first attempt at soil growing, I was scared to over water/nute. I notice she was gettin a little frosty and she's definitely neglected :( I like that it was very low maintenance when compared to hydro. Anyway, she's only ~1ft tall and I took her out of the tent to take pics. Well, I guess that stressed her the fuck out b/c the next day, she was droooooopy :( I added water and she perked right back up! Just like new :P

Lovin' the forest. How do you like your CLW fixture?

Keep up the great work, friend!
I'm loving it so far! It does get a little hot for an LED, but I definitely think it's in the top 3. Lumigrow and CLW have the highest PAR readings. I'm really curious about the PAR of the advanced LED's. I want to buy a few Kessils for those "hard to reach" places. **Edit**I really want to check out these lights**They have adjustable spectrum knobs on a lamp with 10w Cree & Bridgelux diodes, but I didn't think you could get the ideal spectrum with those companies. Maybe they released some new diodes geared towards growing?? That'd be fucking awesomeeee.

Thanks, mayne! I just hope they don't stop producing that precious resin anytime soon.

Hey G, that El Al looks real sativa like. Mofo may get bigger :o. And I always thought A350s used DiCon's chips? Kessil change something?

And I always hate when my plants don't look frosty early. My Blue Cheese is pathetic resin wise till week 6 or 7 and then all of a sudden it's got a great even covering of frost. Happy Growing!

I was thinking about the shape of that bush and thinking a net across it and prune the shit out of the underneath. those tall stalks might struggle holding up the weight of the massive buds your gonna have ;)

Lol, that's what happens when I post stoned. I forgot to add the link. Shit, I forgot to even mention what I was talking about. Preceding that sentence, I meant to say that I was curious about the Advanced LED diamond series XML.

Well, that's a problem I will be able to handle ;) I just bought a bag of ~15 6' bamboo stakes. I'll start zip tying them to those for support.

UPDATE 2.19.13 (Day 40 of 12/12)

I keep thinning out the lower vegetation, but they just keep fkin' growing. I think they've slowed down on the stretch (knock on wood, cross my fingers, and pray to the cannabis gods). She obviously has no concept of personal space :-|

Oh! And since the CG alone was drinking at least 3gal/day, I bought a few more bucket, gromets, and pumps to double up the reservoirs. Now they each have 2 buckets with a circulating pump. Well, except for the Super Silver Cinderellas cuz I'm lazy and haven't done it yet.

The El Alquimista is lookin' perty frostyyyyy!! I just hope she keeps up the good work :D

The Lavender perked back up and she's looking a lot better.

When I planted the SSC seeds, I didn't realize they were F3s and I would most likely end up with more than one pheno. Damn...

Pheno1

Pheno2 (definitely gonna take a lil' longer)

Togetha

P.S. I forgot to mention that there's no fukin way I'm getting to the back of the room to take pics, so pretty much every pic except for the CG canopy (I had to tip toe and reeeeaaaach to the sky to take that damn thing) is taken towards the bottom of the plant. I wish I could take a gander at El Alquimista's main cola :weed:

Don & Homebrewer or whoever feels like answering, what are your thoughts on the 48hr dark period before harvest? And what's your take on flushing? I've never made it this far before (knock on wood) and I reallllllyyy don't feel like fucking shit up at harvest time. I'm considering buying a lil' 3x3x9 tent to throw the Lavender & Alchemist for the dark period and then for drying the buds. I'd give the Super Silver Cindy the same treatment if I could, but those two are gonna be harvested at different times. If nobody tells me otherwise, it's what I'm planning on doing. Maybe a 4-5 day flush? I feel like a week is a little much in hydro. If you change something, noticeable changes occur within hours in these DWC bucketz.

I'll also be adding the 160w uvb light for resin today. Woohoo! That fucking thing gets ~as hot as a 250w HPS tho. I'm going to keep it under the filter so that when the heat rises, it'll get sucked out.... hopefully. I'm thinkin' I'll start it @ 2 hours/day split into 4-30min segments.

Well man I'm not who you asked for help but I'll share, if you don't care for it feel free to ignore. I'll also add that they are looking nice man and very healthy. Really my biggest concern is the amount of light vs the size of that bush. I really hope it works out for you, and doesn't take 20 weeks....

First off the least controversial thing I can tell you is I always suggest people run these experiments on their own to determine the value one way or the other. I think as with anything the effect of these "tricks" is gonna be depend alot on strain. Running the experiments with your strains and growing environment will give you the best idea of the benefits.

Now with that said, I have ran quite a few different experiments over the last several years that have lead me to my current beliefs and methods. I have tried 36-48 hours of dark before harvest. I didn't have a way to get my buds tested for actual levels, but I can say that, that bud smoked just like the stuff without the dark time. It wasn't notiably more sugary or really any different at all. I have also left plants to begin drying in the grow room, this resulted in a longer slower dry, which I did feel helped the taste and smoothness of the smoke. I think it let the plant really use the last of its stored resources the 4-5 days it stayed in the room(out of the water). When I ran soil I let the plants start to dry out the last week as well for the same reason, to kinda simulate a dry fall period.

With regards to flushing, I've played with that as well, and I suggest you do too. I don't usually flush at harvest, partly because I run a perpetual grow so I have plants of various ages in the tray at once. The other reason being that I usually do a flush of my plants at some point during harvest between res changes just to clean things out. When I have actually flushed at harvest, I have not noticed any of the said difference in taste and smell. I firmly believe in trying not to give your plants more then they need, so if you aren't over feeding your plants then there shouldn't be lots of buildup. This also plays into what I said up top about letting the plants dry out and use up the last of the stored resources. So I would say try it, flush for a few days and see how it goes. In the future try to do a side by side and see if you actually notice a difference. Your not gonna fuck anything up be doing or not doing either of these things so don't sweat it.

Thanks, mayne! I appreciate it. The more opinions I get, the better. I know it looks like they're not gettin' too much light down low, and you're pretty much right, but for the pics I switched the lamp to white light only and I took out most of the CFLs. Normally, I have 125w cfls hanging under the canopy to provide some light. She's getting better coverage than I had originally thought she would and she'll have over 1300watts all to herself in a few weeks :) I'm thinking about doing away with the CFLs and adding some Induction for supplementary light.

I've tried the dark period deal many times on over a dozen different strains and never noticed anything.

In regards to flushing, I too leach salts every third week to maintain a healthy medium (rockwool) but I do not believe in depriving plants of the essential elements at harvest time. We don't do this for our garden veggies, why do it for our medicine? Just meet the nutritional needs of your plants at all times without overfeeding, chop on time, cure properly, and your meds will be smooth and tasty!

I'm so glad to hear that you two agree about the dark period. Seemed like more trouble than it was worth.
