Large Closet Grow - Blue dream, Sour Deisel - 16 days into flowering (PICS)

New to this site, although I have read quite a few different threads while browsing and searching the net for info on how to grow. My wife is medical cannabis patient and we it came to our meds we really just wanted to learn how to be self reliant and cost effective. We had bad circumstances with our first grow and had to cut down at the end of veg so we are happy we are finally able to see this set of plants through to flower. we started with1 blue dream clone and 30 seeds from a sour diesel shake, out of the 30 seeds we germinated 9 sprouted and 7 lived...of those 7 ALL were female...huge surprise

This was a all natural Grow, didn't top, super crop, scrog or lollipop...We grew these ladies with all CFL lights in fox farm soil inside a basic home walk in closet with nothing special, we opened the door while lights were on as our ventilation

Plants spent 8 weeks under 6400k lights vegging, and recently just switched the plants to flower on a 12/12 light cycle under 2700k cfl's 16 days ago...Plants are in 5 gallon pots

Me and my wife crafted custom made hoods for our cfls. We adjust the lights daily, and since we have began to flower our plants have doubled and tripled in size. The gif image is day 1 when we put our plants into flower, the other pictures were taken today, 16 days later.

We have one behemoth stretcher at about 5 ft tall including bucket. she was 22 inches when we put her in flowering.

Thanks, This is our first real shot, we cant wait to keep growing and utilizing new techniques to increase our yeild.

Those are really leggy, make sure you tie them up to a stake. If you are legal.. up your lights and come out of the closet.. get your lights lower and more powerful to control stretch.
good to see you doing your own!

Welcome to RIU, agree with lowering lights never flowered with cfls might want to checkout the CFL grows in the indoor threads.Gl

yeah they are very leggy but i cant quite take them out of the closet yet...since its only week 2 can i expect bud yield to be better if the lack of light issue is corrected now?

well for a fist time experiance I guess they are ok .. look healthy tho streatchy as Ppl. say ..

what I fist notice is the distance the light is away .. as evrybody els I surrpose ..

CLFs and Tubes need to be close to provide enough light .. or plant will stretch even more after the light .. and we are talking 2-10 inch`s away ..

my light meter cant even get a reading on my 49WT5HO tubes after 12 inch`s

if you choose to continue with the CLFs you schould consider to make a SoG (Sea of green) in ther .. top em .. use a net .. keep em low .. and keep them lights side by side 4 inches over them and let em grow up before you move it ..

also them small plants .. get em up on sumthing .. books .. buckets .. what ever ..

when you have a hour and a half to wast .. go make yourself a nice joint and a cup of coffee and sit down with your girl and watch this guy

sumthing like that .. belive he have a nice T5HO fixture and some CLFs around for extra light ..

keep em low .. need to keep a even canorpy with CLFs to get the most yild ..

with CLFs you will only get good smokeble buds from the top 10 inch`s of your plants .. so better try to keep as much plant inside that sweet spot ..
