Large main cola or LST to encourage multiple colas?

Hi guys I have a question...

Which would give me a better yield, Encouraging one main cola, or doing LST to get a bunch of smaller Colas?

Also... How do I go about doing this? Ive read about LST so i understand how to tie them down but what do I need to do to encourage a main cola to develop?

My plants are about 2 weeks old right now, 3 or 4 inches tall. 2 of them are starting their first set of real leaves/first node.

Im growing under CFL's. Right now I have a 4 foot ballast with 2 T5 florescent bullbs, and another fixture with splitters and 4 100watt CFL's. All daylight for veg...

Im growing:
2 "jungle wreck"
1 "white widow"
1 "dreamtime"
3 random seeds i got from some really good bud.

Im using floura nova grow right now (7-4-10) very diluted... and ill switch to bloom when its time to flower along with changing my lights from daylight to kitchen and bath.

I have about 4 feet of vertical space to work with.

My goal is to get the most amount of bud in the least amount of time possible...

How big should I let them grow before I flower?

Is it true that I need to put them under 26 hours of darkness as I make the transition from veg to flower?

This is my first time growing so Id really appreciate some help.

i would lst for more colas,more is always beter

you could try super cropping. This is a 5 foot plant standing at about 2 feet tall. im gonna put it in flowering about 6 weeks.

I would top it using UncleBen's technic, instead of one main cola you get four main colas.
you have to wait until 5 or 6 nodes and then cut above the 2nd ture node.

and i have never heard of 26 hours of darkness before flowering

Do you think this is a good size for 3 weeks? I grew it from a seed and had all kinds of temperature problems for the past week but i brought it inside and it looks alot happier.

PBE that plant is 6 weeks old or your gonna flower it for six weeks or your gonna put it into flower in 6 weeks? Did you top it is that how you got it to branch out like that?

I read that if you have just 1 main cola the plant concentrates all its resources into that bud and you will yield more as opposed to a lot of smaller buds with multiple colas. Is this true?

I figure 2 or 4 is a good number just veg em till they get some size and flower them out.

I listened to so much crazy you tube vies and advertisements I about went nuts, it took listening to uncle Ben to get me on track to realize, hey this is a plant, just like any other and no it don't require all this voodoo juice and all that, but if u read that thread you'll be way ahead of the game
