Last Girls of '12

We are coming close to the end of the yearly growing cycle, and I thought I would post my last girls of 2012. These babies will be ready right around Chanukah and Christmas. These are also the biggest I have let my indoor girls get this year, and I am very proud of them :) The cold nights have brought out some beautiful colors in the NY Diesel! The girls are: NYC Diesel, Sour Diesel, Chernobyl, Royal Kush, and DICE. IMG_0856.jpgIMG_0859.jpgIMG_0860.jpg
this is the NYC diesel... trained heavily with around 18 topsIMG_0858.jpg

Here are some updated pics... things are finally looking the way I want them too... The swell is in full effect on my 3 plants that started 2 weeks or so ahead of the other 6, and they look just yummy. I have started using a space heater during lights off to prevent the temp from dropping below 55 so consistently. One regret I do have is not trimming more extensively.... It is still hard for me to do predictive trimming in order to prevent the larf, but these plants are also much larger than I usually grow (any tips on that are greatly appreciated!)

Thanks Bud..... how do you determine what gets the cut before flowering... I mean even with all that undergrowth I still took 45 clones before the switch... (experimenting... I dont need that many) I am hesitant to "over trim" if such a thing exists, and I know you have your dial tuned to the right station ;)

Some guys trim up the plant and some dont. It seems like a trend now to really strip the plant of all undergrowth and build a nice canopy above. I dont go that far, I still leave some lower nugs...mainly because I love hash so much. I know guys that use tomato cages, and trim up to a certain ring. I stop trimming anything at 3 weeks in flower. I will do a little trim job right at the flip, then one at 3 weeks and its find enough for me.

Bored so I will post an update...

Some pics of the room... in the very center is the NYC diesel in its 9th week on the right side wall are 2 DICE plants 7 weeks into flowering, and all around them are sour diesel, chernobyl, and royal kush in their 5th weeks of flowering.IMG_0900.jpgIMG_0901.jpgIMG_0902.jpgIMG_0903.jpgIMG_0904.jpgIMG_0905.jpgIMG_0906.jpgIMG_0907.jpg

5 weeks:IMG_0912.jpgIMG_0913.jpgIMG_0915.jpg

7 weeks:IMG_0898.jpgIMG_0899.jpgIMG_0909.jpgIMG_0910.jpg

Im trying to replicate Uncle Buck's Main-Lining.. to a degree of success hahaha... I keep breaking a side off, but I think I have solved that problem by using Bamboo rods to "crucify" the plants with. I have also started fresh with 2- headed clones (this one is Sour Diesel).

And corny or not... I love it (and hate it sometimes) how cats just beg and plead for leaves...
IMG_0917.jpgIMG_0918.jpgIMG_0919.jpgIMG_0920.jpgIMG_0921.jpg

sorry about the long post.. but I've been a little sick and bed ridden lately so this is my only outlet...

I want to wish everyone a Happy Channukah and a Merry Christmas... If you are fortunate enough to have loved ones and friends... tell them how much you appreciate them, and I wish you all a stress free holiday season!

Looks good.

I am getting a lot of color this time around.

This black widow plant is crazy dark. Some leaves are almost black. It was all green last time I grew it and kept the temp above 70.

I have noticed that about some strains that are supposed to have color. At higher temps/humidity it doesn't seem to happen as much. I had some strawberry diesel for example. The pics at Attitude showed it very purple. And, no, I don't really depend on those pics but have found them to be representative most of the time. Anyway, as we went into fall and winter last year and I continued with it a couple more crops it got very purple in the cooler temps. I have also had plants get dark and purple as I put them in dark for a couple days before chop.
