I GROW GREAT GANJA

Greetings all, I thought I would share my latest venture. I am growing 1 of each because I am strictly a personal use grower. My girls are 24 days old today.

250w MH/HPS using MH now in veg
FFHF soil mixed 70% soil and 30% inert perlite.
FF Grow Big and Big Bloom at 1/4 strength.
Feed, water, water, feed, schedule
Temps avg 78 lights on 73 lights out
RH avg 35%

I have FIM'd the Violator Kush and will soon begin to LST her as well. The Auto I am going to let her grow with no manipulation. She is my first ever auto so I am gaining experience. I may purchase more in the future depending on what the yield and quality is.

Here is a pic from tonight Kush on the right, Auto Blue on the left9.13.2012 003.jpg
Comments anyone?:peace:

Nice dude, keep them healthy and they'll give you good herb. I'm subbed to see how this turns out.
Mind if I ask how tall they are? / How tall are you planning on getting them before flipping them?

I saw your journal. AWESOME! So many naysayers of LED..I am sure that will shut a few up! I thought about doing DWC but I am an old hippie fart stuck in my ways and prefer soil. Afterall, that's how Mother Ganja does it right?

Thanks man! I used LED's ONLY for my first grow a few years back. 600watts of LED light - It didn't produce the weight that 600watts HPS does, but it did create beautifully resinous plants.
A really big difference though, (and I've done HPS and LED side by side for flower on two different plants of the same strain) is the spectrum that LED's put out creates much more leaf growth within the bud, whereas HPS will create more dense nug.
That's the data I've collected at least in my travels....but the thing of the future will be PLASMA lights :)

...and what is the sun? Plasma essentially. Granted the sun's a nuclear reactor, but the spectrum signature of plasma light pretty much the exact same as sunlight.

I fed the girls the other day and made a small math error. The next day the ph was pinned at 8. Then i noticed some lil fucker fungus gnats on my stickies. I got some distilled vinegar and some Go Gnats and both issues are solved. I have done many grows in the past and this is the first time I ever had either problem.

Girls are looking fantastic I will be adding a new pic tonight after lights out.9.23.12 002.jpg9.23.12 009.jpg

Oh. I also realized that I must have been very stoned when I transplanted because I got my girls confused. Turns out the bushier one is the Auto Blue Mammoth. 33 days today and she is definately budding.

If they look a bit droopy it is because I take my pics as soon as light goes out and they are sleepy. As you can see even with such a crappy pic the Auto Blue Mammoth is budding out all over. I have topped and started an LST on the Violator. I am also going to reduce the light to 16-8 to help trichome formation on the budding auto and also cut down on the electric bill! LOL!

Fungus gnat issue is gone completely. the only issue I have is ph. It is staying around 7 which does not have me to worried. I have been endeavouring to bring that down to the upper 5 lower 6 range. I got some ph down and the instructions say to use 1 teaspoon for 4 gallons of water. I am finding that I have to add 3-4 tsps/gallon to lower it 2-2.5 points. I don't know what the fuck is up with that. I have been bringing the ph level down to 5 before watering to try to bring the soil ph down to where I want it and it is still maintaining a steady 7. Again I am not too worried because they are still getting all the essential nutes they need just not at optimal levels. If there are any suggestions I welcome others opinions.:peace:36 days.jpg

I gave the auto the 2nd dose of Bloom nutes and the Violator got her first dose of Bloom as well. I am using my 250w HPS and 4 2700k bulbs 35w each. They are looking quite nice and the Blue Mammoth is getting her first crystals. All comments and questions are welcome.

Anytime my friend.

Hey when youre finish, if you would...give us a yield and smoke report?I know youre in it for personals but i have some mammoths just started and I disagree with Barneys about it only getting 15-20gs.

That VK sounds like some good smoke as well.
