Leaf Claw - Experienced Grower

I am really hoping you find a solution. I have 2 pheno's of one strain. One of the phenos does this every grow. Thinking about just ending that one but I like it's growing structure.

Sativa dominants are sensitive to Nitrogen. I've learned this the hard way. You've just given it too much N.

They won't perk up. You did permanent damage. Just like regular nute burn. They are still doing something however, they aren't totally dead, so I wouldn't cut them off. Just leave them as a reminder that sativas and nitrogen in flower are finicky.

I am still seeing progression of the issue on some that weren't fully clawed. I have only used PH'd water since the original flush 2 weeks ago. Today I tried re-flushing with Clearex and fed @ 350PPM. Hydro shop guy felt I might still be facing a nute lockout due to the combination of high PPM and low PH. Still fighting the good fight.
Luckily this issue only hit the plants I have in small pots. The big ones in 15 gal soil containers are kicking ass.

I'm facing the same problem. Pretty sure I overferted and now my plants are slow growing and saggy. I've flushed a few to see if the perk up. I did find that the leaves that get clawed and curled don't heal but hopefully the new growth looks good.

So if the N is to high then should he transplant?I have a mix in soil that in theory I should only have minimal potential/fixable deficiencies.How do I fix my soil if the N is too high?Flush?Then replace the N w/feedings as needed?I too have a sativa in soil(new to soil)I am just experimenting.I have no issues w/hydro because I am very verse in that area and can grow w/no problems.Hydro comes easy lol...I feel like I have more control over everything.
every time i have had the "claw" happen, it was because of a large ph swing from overferting. My soil went from just under 7 ph to below 5 ph in a very short period of time. I was in your same shoes until I solved the problem on my last grow with some bagseed. dolomite lime and a good flush did wonders for me

Thanks Stella - I think if the issue was that my base soil was too "hot" and the plants were in veg a transplant might be in order. I use Roots soil which is generally fine for me, though. I just overfed with FF nutes a bit. The plants are 3/4 weeks into flower so too late for a transplant as it is. I think my other problem is related to the flowering. Since the plant is no longer focused on making big fan leaves it's too late to expect them to fully rebound. I just need them to be healthy enough to finish decently since they are testers to see if I want to grow bigger/more of these particular strains. I will update after I give them a little time to see if the latest Clearex flush and very light feeding help.

Absolutely agree. The overfeeding drove my PH really low. A couple big flushes seem to have helped the PH and I'm watering PH'd to 6.8 or thereabouts every time now.

Well as a final note on the topic. A water flush 2 weeks ago, water only feeding for 2 weeks, then a clearex flush a few days ago and 1/4 strength feed seem to have done the trick.
I think some of the issue is that I needed to lower my expectations for how much the leaves that were curled would recover. It appears that damage is more permanent and I just have to realize it ain't coming back. However, if I look at ome of the lesser damaged leaves, the sides where it was more folded under like a taco have flattened out, the pistils are staying white and healthy and it doesn't look like the curl is progressing anymore.
Big thanks to all that helped and chimed in. Also on the good news front I harvested about 4 oz off of the Medicine Woman plant I cut yesterday. Not bad considering it was a Craigslist adoption from 4 weeks ago!
And I triple posted my own topic! Woot!
