Leaf colour

hi guys, asked this before but didn’t get much reply, so here it goes:

4 weeks into flower, 400w hps, soil, ph btw. 6-7.

Some of my leaves started to look like this:

Leaves are lighter.

Why do some only have three fingers?



WhAts wrong with my plant? nutes?

The lighter ones are mainly directly under the light , which is 15” above the canopy

Help pls

For a 400 W HPS, 15" seems a tad too close and if it's only the leaves under the lights going a bit yellow, the girls are in agreement. Raise the light to 20" and see how they react.

The larger fans typically have 5 to 7 fingers but the smaller fans, especially the ones poking out of the middle of a cola, can have only 3. Don't stress over the number of fingers on a fan leaf.

Cheers for the advice, will raise lights and see what happens; could it also be that my canopy is too dense? The ones yellowing are mainly the ones below my scrim canopy...

I cannot recall RW … and I can't tell from your pics … but did you do a Screen Of Green (SCROG)? If you did and your canopy has matured, those leaves below your main canopy are getting starved for light and you can prune them off.

If you see any smaller branches below your main canopy that are also getting starved for light with the larger branches filling out and bulking up, you can prune them off as well. Those little twigs won't get much larger so go ahead and clip 'em right where that LARFY branch starts. Let the plant throw all her energy into maturing the larger branches.

Good question … I don't remember where I heard it first - but I thought it was a great way to describe those bits that are too small or are that light and fluffy "under bud."

Still usable though. It's good for testing the potency of the crop and for making oil for edibles.
