lights: 600w mh
medium: ffof
nutes: ffof normal line
temps: 75ish
ph: 6.5
cycle: veg

I have a few showing these signs. I went through the diagnosing sticky and have some ideas, but i wanted to ask the experts. If its mag deff I can go get some salts for a spray, but i want to make sure im spraying them with the right stuff...

ok, so i flushed them a few days ago. i havent really seen anything getting better. the leaves are curling up around the edges towards the light. when i feel the rolled edged they feel super soft like i could just unroll them. the ones that had curled up earlier still have the shape but where the leaf has curled it is hard and lifeless. I have also moved them down to the floor so they have more room from the light, now about 5ft originally thinking it was probably heat stress or lack of enough humidity

originally like 3ft, probably too low. its a cooltube so i didnt think it was putting off too much heat, plus i have a fan that keeps the glass cool. but i feel like the fan that was blowing over the canopy wasnt keeping the leaves cool enough

i reckon you are right with the mag def. i had it on my plants and the tips went pale and curled down and some leafs rolled up. after a while the older damge went crispy and dry.

i think it could have been a combo of humidity being to low(20%ish), lights being too low with only a fan blowing at the lights glass and not across the canopy keeping the plants cool. just seems like it could have been too much for the tiny leaves imo idk

The tube thing thats going on in the second pic seems to be getting a little worse for a couple. I switched from distilled water to spring water. Thinking it could be a magnesium thing. Any thoughts? After they roll up like that the leaves die on the rolled parts.

i put some soil from each of the ones that have these tubed leaves in little cups. i tried to get it from as close to the root mass as i could. after mixing it wit just a little bit of distilled water i checked the ph's. each was around 6.3. which i always thought was fine. and the lights are pretty high up right now so i could make sure it wasnt heat stress. the leaves are tubing from the top to the mid sections. anyone on rui seen this before

correct me if i'm wrong but ive read that lights that are too strong and way too close can sun-bleach the leaves. for sure they can be burnt by heat, but even the intensity of the light can be damaging to the leaves

Im still way new to this but you are correct and from what i have read and experienced so far that was nute burn. If you are using distilled water or even spring water you have to add a cal mag supplement. I think I read with FFOF soil you can go around 2 weeks without giving extra nutes aside from a cal mag supplement. I'vve only used roots soil , supposed to be the same situation but I only went a week before adding nutes to the schedule. then I pushed it too much and got a little burn like yours.
