Leaf yellowing on young plants

Hello Friends, got some yellowing on young seedinglings here. It is in the back two pots. I am on day 15 since planting a germinated seed. I checked the root PH and it is around 6.0 -6.5. I'm using FFOF, 18/6 Lighting and temps are no higher than 92F (71-92F is range). I have yellowing on the two back pots on EXACTLY the same sets of leaves on both plants. They are the oldest four leaves, located at the very bottom. One set may be getting little light but the other set is getting plenty. Any advice here? Yellowing happened over the last 2-3 days.

I've watered 3-4 times during this two week cycle. There is a third plant that has some stunted growth due to what I believe was early overwatering. The other two plants.

Any advice? Please help, my last grow went awful. At least 3 major problems plus I harvested too early.

Just keep going. Learn to water by weight. Don't allow them to get really dry. That OF can be a little hot.

Thanks, gotcha. I have been letting plants get really dry due to some initial overwatering on the smaller plant.

Anyway you can knock that peak temperature down? 92F may be part of your lack of success...

It is possible if I open windows/sliding glass door at night. The temps here are going to drop here and it would keep my tent at about 84-86F. I did that last week on a night that was cold and had a couple bugs inside my tent come morning. So to prevent any pests from easily entering I've been keeping the sliding glass door shut. I figured 92F was a better risk to take than allowing pests an avenue inside.

Time to get screen/filter to cover your tent's intakes...

overwatering i guess . let them dry .
don't worry about temperature . i ran it on 94f and it's ok . but airflow must be good.

overwatered and temps too high, soil is fine. plastic cups > clay pots for seedlings

what is the light situation? distance from plants?

is a/c an option?

Sorry I missed this post sir: Light distance is good-18inches from plant. It is an LEC 350w and that was the recommended distance from the manufacturer.

Just wondering why plastic cups work better?

As far as Temp-my ambient temp has dropped so its now no higher than 88F and yesterday it was 75F at its hottest.

Its been a couple weeks-plants went from underwater to slightly overwatered. I got a bit of yellowing still. But they are growing. I also have repotted all 4 plants into 5gal pots. LST'd one plant-two are sativas so I will let them grow tall bc that's what they do naturally.

My histoy- 1 prior indoor grow with many problems (never PH'd water). Potential light stress. And harvested too early on 2 of 3 plants. Prior to that I worked 3 seasons on outdoor farms in NorCal. But was never involved in popping seeds or the early stages of growth. Of course we don't worry about water PH or Lights in an outdoor scenario. I realized on my first grow--- I know very little about pot. I have tons of experience pruning/defoliating in Veg and mostly in Flower.

Raise the light, put it at the top of the tent. Let them grow into the light. It is too strong for those 2 week old plants. Yes its far away, its ok.

88F is too hot, gotta keep it cooler with your LEC. 75 is much better. If it gets 84+, need to have a way to cool it down or raise humidity high enough to lower VPD. If you have time, read about VPD, helps you understand the importance and relationship of temps/humidity (and why NorCal grows great outdoor bud).

Plastic cups dont necessarily work better, just more practical. Can add extra drainage holes, lightweight, smaller diameter so use less space, and cheap!

What is humidity? What will you be feeding with? Its time for food

Ok--my humidity is very Low- when in small pot it was 16%/Lights on. And 35%/Lights off (18/6). Now in the re-potting scenario (four 5gal SmartPots)- it is too early to tell, been as high as 46% (lights off) but today its 16%. (lights on).

Temperature I can control easy with windows open and keep it lower than 88F no problem. Also have a high-end fan/filter that can be turned way up.

FOOD- I plan on moving to flower Dec 31, I re-potted 3 days ago into 5gal Smarts with FFOF and just under 1 quart of Worm Castings in each(1-0-0). I did that based on user (M yke, no space) here in this thread (https://www.rollitup.org/t/pro-mix-organic.1056572/#post-16394273). He advised 10% of WC per soil volume. I did not follow to the T there. B/c in all my outdoor grows we threw just a handful of W.C. per each clone and later fed with teas that I do not know the recipe too.

For Flower last time I used this Feed (Nebula Haze tutorial said I could get away with it). So I did and went light on the dose.


I bet you will kill me for what is supposed to be Orchid food.

I will definitely read up on VPD.

Thanks for the help- to summarize: Very Low Humidity (16% lights on), Food-wise Recently repotted into 5gallon smart pots with approx. 1 qt of WC, For Flower- plan to use Dynacorp (have Cal-Mag on hand too). Temp can be controlled with windows AND fan settings.

Temps- you know what to do now
Humidity- i think you already know what you need to do. Need to raise humidity significantly. I use the below unit for my room, on sale at Sears rn
Food- Dyna Grow 3-12-6 is ok, just a little low on K

Order 2oz of potassium bicarbonate off ebay for $6, this is your new PH up. Wont take much to raise PH and will also raise K levels.

Feed full strength before you flip. Calmag will not be needed at all, exchange it if possible.

Thanks. I'll do these things today. Gonna check GoodWill in a few minutes, I live in the Dry SW now and there are always humidifiers around. If nothing is worth it, I have a Sears nearby. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

For reference here are the pics I took of my last grow. I asked for help on Reddit but was banned before I could read responses (told people on a Vacks forum that C19 wasn't real).


Don't know what that looks like to you- Nutrient burn, Light burn, poor Ph, low humidity, heat stress, or all.
