Leave dome on my seedlings?

Hey guys is was just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on leaving my humid dome on my seedlings till the first leafs develop? Of couse i would not keep it humid for stem rot issues and give adequite air supply. Just wondering if it's easier this way. Having a hell of a time raising these seeds.

I leave mine on usually till the second leaves devolop. I believe you can get vented domes if need be

I never use a dome on seedlings, others always use one... It's personal preference I guess and probably depends on the humidity in your area but I get the best results with no dome and a small fan on the seedlings to be sure the stems develop strong enough to hold up the little guys as they get those first real leaves.

Otherwise in my case I lose a lot of them to just falling over from their own weight, and then it's too late they almost always die once they've fallen over.

My humidity is a 60 - 70%, temp of 30, and 2 four foot flourescents 20 inches above her on 18/4 lighting schedule, I hope this is a good setup as i have not had sucess from seed yet! getting frustrated. But hopefully this one works out it is just starting to break the surface now.

I never use a dome,my seeds have just gone into v high quality bonsai mix with 2 20w 5000lumen cfls about 2 inches away,they're an inch tall with dark purple stems from some bagseed.lights on 24/24

I use a dome until they break thru the surface of the soil. Then I take the dome off and mist the new growth lightly (a couple times a day) for a few days. I also do this under flouros.
