Wondering do you harvest fully covered sugar leaves or do you take them off? Or do you just leave them on and take all fan leaves? Going to try it the same way abd see what people like more. keepem green dirrtyd

are you talking about trimming? in that case i doubt anyone would want them to stay on, plus just think of all the goodies that you can make with the trim.

Yes I'm referring to trimming. I can make goodies with all the bud. These here leaves look like sugar is on them. Very sticky nice and large. More opinions welcome. dirrtyd

I cut branches off one by one and work on them. I use big scissors and cut all the fan leaves and large leaves down, then use small trimmers and basically trim right down to the bud shape.

I've always tossed the fan leaves, and kept the sugar leaves for making butter and cooking

It may be that leaving sugar leaves on while drying makes a better taste. I haven't tried it tho, I can't imagine trying to manicure buds when the leaves are wilted down over them. Time consuming enough when they are sticking straight out.

I like to get rid of all the fan leaves too for a couple reasons, 1 is as it drys I don't want it pulling that leaf flavor into my buds so it cures faster after I jar it. 2 is it drys faster 3 is after I trim I have super shake to go with my pop corn without the water leaves mixed in so that its ready for the screens or crookpot. I call it pre trimming.

I've been trimming the big fans in the field just after or just before harvest to cut down on the trash in my drying barn. It'll be enough of a pain getting rid of all those twigs!

I trim to follow the contour of the but but it's pretty rough. It's for personal use and most of it's vaped.
