Leaves discolored ?

Here is a pic she is on day 17 since sprouting out the soil. I have not fed anything and soil is just happy frog with a little coco mixed in. The seed is Durban poison if that matters . I have not watered them much and they are about 20 inches away from the light . Temps have been a little hot but humidity has been perfect.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the run on sentences as I kept thinking of info people might ask lol.

Could be Mosaic virus disease, caused by Aphids, that transmit the disease. If the mottling shows dark green veins against lighter green leaf, then it could be nutrient Iron, manganese or born deficiency.
Use an eye loop and check under the leaves and all over the plant for super tiny whitish looking dots, if you find these signs it is aphids. Get some Dr. Death or Earths Ally organic spray.
If no pests, I would suggest using 1 tblsp of Epsom Salts (garden or food grade) to 1 G of water. Provide this every week. You could also try it as a foliar spray once weekly as well. Then monitor the plant as this solution adds manganese, sulfur and some other macro nutrients.

Ok I’ll check today when I get home from work. I don’t think I have any pest issues tho but I could be wrong .

Leaf varigation comes to mind but Im clueless with bugs and disease I just dont see em so idk. I wouldnt of added coco to the soil, I didnt do good in soil even following basic steps. That likely wouldnt of helped tho. Any reason as to why? Just curious.

I mentioned this before and people asked me the same question. This is only my 4th grow and when I first started I kept seeing people say add some coco to make sure soil is airy so I did and it worked for me so I assumed it was good. recently tho people have said to just use the happy frog as is . I’ll prolly do that next grow especially since so many keep saying it.

I dont usually read soil threads so I may of missed that but I dont tend to see that. Or at least this site. Theres container growing and no till then this hybrid coco/soil. People use small pots or large pots which allows the microbes, ph and etc to work out as they live further down the pot.

People top dress more soil or things like EWC and whatever. Sometimes people will treat it like its inert and use salt fertilizer. But coco/soil if enough coco is in it I can understand where issues can arise as I do drain to waste coco.

Id see people say things like Ive never seen a successful grow with that. Its possible to have conflicting experiences on this site, I tend to speak up when it happens. Like hey I remember with this was the norm, now its that? Lol.

Idk just wondered where people are getting set up to work with coco/soil. As I dont know anyone on this site whos active daily to help if goes wrong. They come and go but new people with issues come here often.

Yea no it might be a situation that I just got wrong . Or has changed since I started. Next grow ima go just plain soil and see how it goes . I will say this is my 4th grow and I have had no issues in my first 3. Well that’s not true I had stretching in my first but that’s it . These leaves on this one tho are starting to worry me. The one guy said check for pests I’ll do that today when I get home but besides that idk what it could be.

Could be varigarion I forget how to spell it. For some reason I see it a lot when I did soil and sometimes in my coco grows. It should out grow it if its nothing major. Youd be hit with worse luck than me only 4 grows in if it was a virus, Ive never had one. Ive been hit with some weird unexplainable things and mold pretty early but thats it.

In otherwords viruses are some of the less common things I see people go through especially early in their experience. Bugs can happen, budrot/powderymildew thats common. Lots of people for the most part are lucky if they can keep their grow clean and healthy enough.

I hope that’s all it is. Ima do a deep check tonight for pests if not just hope it ain’t serious.

I didn’t think nothing of the leaves but looking back at pics it has been this way since first set of leaves and I have had no noticeable pests.
Yeah your getting it down, next run just as you said just straight happy frog with a few solo cups of added perlite for drainage but not necessary if don't have money for it. Like 12 dollars a bag. Then after a month will need some fertilizer plant uses up happy frog what's in it. Simple Neptune fish/seaweed fertilizer till flip then a bloom booster and that's it,nice and easy:cool: feed the Neptune once a week not until runoff pour easy so doesn't pour out bottom.

I see what you mean it looks exactly like it started so I doubt bugs but something in soil maybe or just genetics, being Durban a satvia I would think leaves would be more skinny like a satvia, especially Durban. Looks like hybrid or leaning anyway if makes sense.

You can obviously use a bit of Coco in your soil mix but that's to cut down on peat for the most part there different so best either doing dirt or Coco separately plus I find the high Coco low peat compost mixes to be crap Vs traditional peat based stuff imo so there's clearly a point when too much Coco is too much
