Ok here it is. It is fairly new. Like brand new. I believe it was a Sunshine Systems 300w LED it is sold as. I believe it was around like 800+ dollars and I got it for like 250.

The label on it.

Over-all top view.

And what it looks like.

That's with it at the top of the tent about 28in above the plants. actually its 28 in from net at this point. 32 in from tallest plant. lol

Now ....
Make some complete grows with that R/B combo ..
Mark the results ...(both quality and quantity wise ..)
Customise -modificate the $h!t out of this panel ....
Make a first grow ...
Mark the result ..
Make another ..
And another ...
Mark the results ...
And you 'll understand completely ,why it was worth it ....

Edit :
Regarding the leds : Try this chinese company .i(f you like ..and Assuming the leds on the panel are the chinese type ones...8mm )
They are quite trust worthy ..
http://www.poweredled.com/
All of their whites are Bridgelux chip (original BXCE 45 x 45 mil chip : checked many times ..... http://www.bridgelux.com/assets/products_portfolio/BXCE45Datasheetrev7-14-2011.pdf )
You 'll need approx 300 pcs (to have some spare ..) -they charge approx 0.5 $ per led ..
That should be about 150$ ,for 300 pcs of leds ..don't know for customs charges though ...
( Not trying to advertise ...They are "approved" by us , asian manufacturers ..They do not lie ...And they can handle small orders ... )
.....

Well honestly I had no intentions of flowering solely with this light. Wouldn't want to waste my time having so much money invested at this point with everything. I planned on dropping two 600 watter's in there or my 1k both hps. Keeping the led in there as well but hung in the middle and vertically so that it shines more on an angle but the whole canopy still. Seeing as I'm doing a scrog and I want consistency across the board.

So I guess I made out with an alright led then. lol. I'm always one for upgrading ass much as i can when i can. I'm an by no means an electrical engineer though. lol. I deal with a lot of car engine electrical and I mess with house electrical. I can solder but I have no idea what I am going to be looking for in there. lol. I may just have to leave it as is and use it for supplemental flowering light.

^^Good to hear your input on the WW:NW ratio.

Thank you Sailor

EDIT: Evo, that does look like the perfect DIY panel, the casing that is. Tear that shit up!

I'm down for upgrading it but I need to get some more info and what the prices would be and where to find all the parts i would need.

If I go about this or anything really I tend to just go all out the first time and be done with it. So with that said I would want to upgrade pretty much anything I should or can. lol.

Ok so now that I've been pondering it over and curious what was going on inside I decided to take it apart seeing its lights out.

So here are some shots of the inside.

Here's the ballast's and the fan's and what not else obviously.

Here is the heat sink which I'm assuming is aluminum again obviously.

This I have no idea what you want to call. All I know is that there is a lot of screws I'm guessing I would have to take out to replace the led's ?

Oh ...The pics are really a mess ....
Try to shoot better pics ...
Leds and drivers from close ..
( heat sink & led pcb from far ,so to be seen as whole ... )
Now I 've to go ....
It looks like, that you can easily customise it ....

Now ...
in a rush ....

I can see six drivers ...
(and six fans ) ....
so probably six led " modules "..Or " wiring groups"
Each group having 48 leds ....
So driver should be at least 50 Watt each ...
They seem big enough ....
If you're going to change to whites (say...),you'll need 48 x 3.5 Volt = 168 volts per group voltage drop ..
-if all 48 are whites ...It doesn't matter though ...)
168 x 0.35 A = 58.8 Watt ...
You need 60 Watt ,350 mA Constant Current drivers ....6 of them ...
If those are 60 Watts ( at output ) they do not need to be changed ...
...
six fans ...
can change them with better and more silent ones (and more expensive ... )
...
Those two black boxes ,at the far side ?
....power supllies for the fans ?

Be carefull with the mylar sheet ....
You do not want it scratched ....
....

I can't see clearly ,what type of leds are ....better pic needed there ....
( Do they measure 8mm mm Dia .at plastic ( black ) case ? --7mm at contact leg sides --If yes ...Good...)

heatsink seems really ok ,for the job ....Quite large surface ...(it seems so ... )
....
( Do not be tempted and try to polish it !..just in case .... )
...

That's for now ....

That looks like a Blackstar type panel. Very upgradable, just takes a little commitment and a love of screwing and unscrewing little screws :). There are easier panels to upgrade but you can do some modding/upgrades there. Basically the LEDs are soldered to the PCB and the back of the LEDs are all greased up and held against the heatsink by the screws. Upgradable but that design is a little bit of a pain in the ass to upgrade. You need the exact same size diodes and you need to have good soldering skills. Doable though. Good Luck!

lol I was figuring that there really wasn't much to look at. Nothing in there really say's anything. The power supply's say 120/250v supply. The fans are 15v .15amp's.

As for a picture of the led's what are you looking for exactly. I don't really feel like taking off that shiny film and taking out all those screws. lol.

^^^^ I love these guys, if I could I'd give ya'll a big ol' bromance hug. lol Full of legit, on point, and helpful information; no matter the topic.

someone enlighten me, how do I rep? Im sick of ppl as yourselves going around consistently rocking it and knowing I have not supported a fellow hobbyist.

Could you delve into this a bit Sailor?
-What does this tell you?
-What are the positive and negative consequences of this diameter?
-What other diameters are available, the most common, and best?
-What determines the diameter? (diode's wattage?)

etc. etc. Been an all around DIY'er and it's about damn time I start making my own lights.

Brooo.just click on the sherriff star at the bottom of a post tfor rep.

I just started to diy too. Im going to take my sweet ass time. That way I can afford it ...

My Blackstar 240s(one veg, one flower) have been doing me well so far. I'm in my first flowering, and my babies have only ever had problems because of my stupidness.

But maybe I'm just such a natural of a gods given gardener they'll grow no matter what lights I put them under.
