I ordered parts from cobkits and just need to buy some aluminum angle to build the frame. I know there was a diy led thread with pics from several members and I can't find it.

I'm sure I'll have a couple questions and will post em here when I receive the parts.

Here is what I ordered...

It depends on how the cobs are wired up. In parallel which I'm assuming they are by driver choice. Its 4.45A max in parallel they will be 1483mA per cob. Which is 80w per cob. 240w per driver. 480w total.

sounds about right
Depending on the area size. I'd run all 6 on one 240h driver. Super low current. 741mA for 6. 40.05w each. For 240.6w total through the six. Jus to getbetter efficiency. But that also depends on the cob too. They may not be good run that low. I'm jus assuming they're safe to run that low. Maybe not. I'd have to look at the datasheet.

Already regretting buying this shit, just unboxed everything..

Shouldn't I need thermal grease to go between the cob and heatsink too?

Do I mount a 1900 box on the frame and run the 12" driver cord to box and run a cord from wall to box on frame?

yes you need thermal grease or pads i 'll drop some pads in the mail tomorrow
the dimmer leads for each driver get connected together (use the 3-slot wagos), then you connect the potentiometer (center post to either side post) to the same wagos. a junction box would be advisable for the AC side as least... DC side not as dangerous

that vid above is a good start, and at least you know you need thermal compaound, so youre not as lost as you think. email me if you need quicker service

I did see the 17$.. thanks. The video was no help, I built the frame but I was looking for a wiring schematic or diagram.. should I wire in series or parrallel?

parallel, run the 2-conductor wire to all cobs. red to + of cobs, white to - of cobs.

gang all those wires together on the other end (strip the brown jacket back farther, leaving like 1.5" of red and white wire - strip each of those 1/4". put all the red wires in one wago (one wire per hole) and + from the driver in a hole in that wago too. put all the white wires in a separate wago and run the - from the driver to that

on the AC side, use (3) 3-slot wagos- one each for brown, blue and green

brown from driver one+brown from driver two + black from cord you are using (assuming you are cutting up an extension cord)
blue from driver one+blue from driver two + white from cord you are using
green from driver one+green from driver two + green from cord you are using
