LED Hempy Bucket Grow - The Sauce (Green Ribbon x Gorilla Glue)

Hello everyone, I've been learning from this forum for about 5 years, but this is my first post/journal! I'm still a beginner and have a lot to learn so I welcome any advice on anything you see that can improve this journey. I've had a few successful grows (2 outdoor and 1 indoor) and wanted to journal them but was too afraid of the pigs even though I'm in a med state and have my doctor's rec. Paranoia at its finest. However, this time the grow is not at my house so I'm not worried.

To the damn point already...

  • Atmosphere: Tent 3x3x7(I need to verify the height next time I'm at the location) with inline fan and carbon filter. Humidity at 70% now for the clones, temperature currently around 78 deg-F.
  • Style: Hempy and using good ol' LST (Low Stress Training once they reach 7th node). Tops for dayz!
  • Flavor: The Sauce (Green Ribbon X Gorilla Glue #4) ..Got lucky with these clones since my friend met the grower of this cup-winning strain and somehow convinced them to let us donate for several 4-6" clones.
  • Lights: 1,200 watts L.E.D. plus a few 6500k CFLs for veg (18/6) and 2700K CFLs for flower (12/12). I've only done 600 watts previously with great results so this should be more fun.
  • Medium: 100% perlite (Plant!T Super Course)
  • Home: 3 gallon buckets with holes 2" above (after the clones are done forming roots in the party cups). Vegging for 4 weeks, Flowering until 50-60% of the crystals turn amber.
  • Food: General Hydroponics Maxigro(veg)/Maxibloom(flower), Cal-Mag, Molasses.
  • pH: Using a cheap Milwaukee pH600 pen at 5.8-6.1 after adding nutes and pH down in tap water. Never checked PPM in my grows...I know investing in a better pen that checks everything will result in better yields, but honestly I'm on a budget and I've grown better quality bud than the PR I've donated for at the clinics...I'm saying this for Hempy growing only..for soil I would definitely be using a better pen. Once I get a raise, I'll get a better one hah.
I think that's about it unless anybody wants to know more. Thanks to anyone following this journal and helping me along the way! Enjoy some pics:

Day 1 of purchasing the clones...currently under 105 watt 6500K CFL 10/23/15:

Day 6 ...Feeding schedule has been plain water, nutes, plain water, nutes, etc. at 1/4 strength. 10/28/15

Day 10 Update 11/01/15:

Been feeding water, nutes, water, nutes, etc still. I added another 105 watt CFL, so thats a total of 210 watts right now on the clones which are still in 12 oz party cups. Other than that, nothing else too different!

Day 11 Update 11/02/15:

In my opinion, Day 10 showed a lack of nitrogen so we changed the schedule to water, feed, feed, water, feed, feed, etc. I think the plants grew at a faster rate from the heavier feed plus double the light added from last night....

Day 17 Update 11/08/15:

On day 17 veg, we transplanted from 12oz solo cups to their final homes..2 gallon buckets. Also began mild LST. Going to keep only 200 watts of CFL still for one more day and then turn on LED lights on day 18. Feeding half-dose of Maxigro. Lights have been raised only for taking picture's sake. And yes, I spent a whole day duct taping these white buckets to light-proof 'em...I could've spray painted but honestly didn't want to deal with the chemical smell, letting it dry, and having to go buy paint when I already had a lot of duct tape.

Really good perlite brand, super course indeed, and sterile:

Inhaled some nasty perlite dust...wear a mask!

3/4" drain hole drilled about 2" from the bottom + mesh tape + holes on top for LST!

In the process:

Drooping regardless of the LST, transplant shock..but wait 'til tmw!

I don't believe I posted a decent pic of the setup of my tent, so here you go:

Day 18 Update 11/09/15:

Plants are already reaching for the light after the LST from last night. So at least the transplanting was successful..however, ran into light problems. Edison didn't tell us (as far as we know) that they were shutting electricity down for several hours, which kinda screwed up our light schedule. Lights turned off 2 hours early, and then lights turned back on 2 hours too late. I'm hoping this doesn't create hermies since it's still in veg, but maybe you guys can tell me what's up...Other than that, finally turned on the LEDs! So now we have 600 watts of LED plus 200 watts of CFL.

Are those 100x3w Hollandstar LED's?
Looks like the same kinda setup I'm doing, looks like my 4x4x6.5 quictent too. Jeesh.

Just about to order my second hollandstar and fan/filter. Cool shit.
If it is the hollandstars, your plant will love them. I've had great success with mine so far.

Awesome man, I'll check out your journal if you got one going! Mine are actually just no-name ones (now called MarsHydro) from China on eBay (2x300watt 5W), BUT I did a lot of research and other growers bought lights from the same eBay seller and liked em. I know I do, grew my last batch of Lamb's Bread with them successfully. Hoping the same this time but we are actually going to double up the lights during flower which will give us a total of 1,200 watts LED + however many 27K CFLs I can find in my house.

Man, I swear they look like my hollandstar. Also from china and a no-name brand. If it works it works who cares :)
I think with my local rates, it only costs roughly $10-$14 a month for each light at 20/4 or abouts. My rates are extremely high too. Not bad in my mind. I could only dream of having 4. I'm def grabbing a second one in a month or so as my 2 plants are loving it so far but I'm afraid that I may not have enough power for big thick buds. I'm keeping an eye on your setup, as we are pretty close the same.

No grow journal but I'm posting in the autoflowering section. Didn't realize there was a journal section at the time. 2 strains going right now, Northern lights auto and Candy cane auto.
Both grown under the 300w their whole life.

I looked up Hollandstar and it does indeed look just like mine... The one I have is like $80 for a 300-watter on eBay if you search MarsHydro, and cheaper if you get two..comes with two-year warranty as well I believe..just letting you know if you wanted to try it out instead of spending 3 times more on the Hollandstar! not saying they are going to be better since I never used yours, but I can tell you from experience I got dense nugs! Keep me posted on your grow, bro. Good luck!

Yeah, in Canada theres a 5 billion % markup plus 50.00$ shipping.
Kinda the reason I went with Hollandstar

n/m , checked .ca instead of .com
I'll order from .com :P

Sorry I know it's been awhile. Last month we had major yellowing/drying issues with the plants, and I was actually about to trash this grow...luckily my partner continued to try and save them and now they are back on track despite being set back a few weeks due to all the plant-stress.

Day 24 Update 11/15/2015
Lots of yellowing (can't tell from these pics but it got worse after a few days) probably due to heat stress! Keep lights close, but not THAT close next time.

Day 54 Update 12/15/2015
It's a miracle! It's been 54 days of veg already due to all the heat stress. We raised the lights, turned up the exhaust fan, and added Superthrive which has seemed to help as you can see. Going to switch to 12/12 (flower) in a few days!
