Don't agree with you and it seems that you presume too much. I was into LED's more than 6 years ago. I have been an advocate for them for a long time. However, until recently, I had not had the chance to grow under HPS. Now that I have, it's going to take a lot to move me from it.
IT's easy to make statements in hindsight. At one time CLW lights were among the best. No one can argue with their build quality. Out of all of their lights that I've used the Solar Extreme 500 gave me the best results. For under $400 show me a COB that provides equal or better value that offers 400 true watts, has a 3 year warranty, is American made and it's light spectrum is right in the sweet spot of the McCree Curve. So, yes, for a tent needing lower heat and excellent performance I have no problem recommending the Solar Extreme 500. I own three of them and have used them for several grows. Have/do you own any of them to make your claim? I did not say that I didn't like them. I said my results were not what I thought that they could be. Also, in stating that I thought the Solar Extreme gave me the best results I acknowledged that the newer LED cob technology was the most effective of the three that I've used from them. So Professor, maybe you need to check your reading comprehension....Okay?

I've got a Timber Redwood VS on order just waiting on delivery and I'm really excited about it. I ordered it with 6 lights 4 -3k and 2 -1750k. I'm hoping that it performs more like an HPS in bud development, density, frost and terpene/flavor. I had them configure it with drivers able to be remotely mounted outside of my tent. Hopefully, the tent stays cooler and I can run it at full output.

I also purchased an HLG 600w Scorpion R spec. I've been using it for about a week now. I'm running it full power at about 15 inches over the canopy. So far, I'm underwhelmed by it's performance. I'm not noticing an appreciative difference in the plants. The previous light was 400 watts and I expected more out of this. Maybe my expectations are too high. It's hard to tell as I'm new to Quantum Board Led's.

I haven't tried the qbs yet. I'm still waiting for more data from them. Lol... I'm more than pleased with my cobs but I wish the light spread over the canopy was more like the strip/ bars. Also I wish I would've done the remote driver thing. Might still do that once the warranty is up.

That's what I've read too. I'm hoping that the volume of light from the 6 fixtures helps the spread a bit.
It sounds like you're still happy with them though. Are you getting decent harvests? I'm hoping that this light will let me just let me pause my lusting after the holy grail of lights....

Well my fixture is in a 3x3. My last grow was 2 firsts. 1. Led lights 2.dwc. So, overall, I'm very happy with the light. Since it was first time led and dwc, I had a great harvest, but I had pretty bad foxtailing. Not the lights fault. I wasn't prepared for how fast and large dwc can get the plant. Anyways I ran out of room in my tent and she foxtailed on me. Still really potent bud. Good yield. Buds just look kinda funny. I grow for personal use though so I don't really care. They got pretty frosty too. Also, my first time Scrogging. Should've defoliated more but I was worried about taking off leaves while getting too intense of light. Guess I could've dimmed it but then under canopy suffers. Either way I'm better prepared for this next run.

Nice! The first DWC that I did I had a similar experience. I was literally seeing inches of growth each day. Fortunately, the light did not generate too much heat and the buds turned out to be decent.. It is tricky getting things dialed in sometimes.
