those led bulbs won't really cut it for growing they might help for supplemental lighting but to grow you'd be better with a few larger CFL and those to add to it than only those bulbs and one clf . what kind of space are you growing in? is this a micro grow where space is limited ? if you look back thru this thread a little you'll see lots of suggestions for companies who make good leds for decent prices. apollo, blackstar, advance, pro, etc...
Gotta disagree... seen multiple people who grew plants just fine with just blue and red in the right spectrum and balance. Some whites'll probably help I'm sure but that doesn't mean you can't grow with just blue/red. In fact my blackstars are almost all blue/red... sure there are a couple whites and a UV led in there, but the overwhelming majority is just simple blue/red, mainly red. Additional lighting won't hurt, but not necessary.

Don't worry about speeding things up. Focus on a quality grow - if speed is a concern, get short flowering strains and/or go autoflower. Looking for shortcuts as a new grower is just asking to fuck your plants up somehow. Patience :)

no it wont speed up the process... the only sure fire way to do that is by going some sort of hydro, that usually shaves a week or so off of a grow and that's about it... you could also do the crazy ass light schedule I used for my last grow (didn't make a journal unfortunately) but it shaved about 2.5 weeks off of total time but yielded a fair bit less than usual. And I have a very small space to work with if you fancy checking out my sig, might help, might not XD

I would have done a bit more research before buying those lights though, they'll work but they have next to no power, you might as well have stuck to CFL's (the cost of those LED's is a bit steep)... see if you can stick a few extra 2700k CFL's with them, should be a bit more adequate.

:) they'll work just top it up with some CFL goodness!
I checked it out, looks nice! :) What size is the shed and what kind of lighting are you using? I didn't see those listed on the first couple pages, but then I've never been too observant a person.

They will grow a plant :) it's not so much that blue and red wont grow a plant it's that they don't have much power at all so wont have much spread or penetration and they'll grow up stringy, I almost brought some ages ago, kinda glad I saved up :)

I moved out of the shed area a few grows back and into my latest box which is indoors for the winter, and I'm keeping them there 'cause its mega stealth lol. Dimensions are 90cm wide x 40cm deep x 80cm high I ran a 250w HPS (could have done a 400) but now I'll be running a 270w LED

EDIT: For those who are interested, just started a new journal with my LEDs, https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/569255-360w-stealth-dwc-round-1-a.html#post8091713

Damn that's a lot of growth! How long did it take you to get your plants that big? Still real new to this, so I just want to know what sort of timeline I ought to expect.

hello chandelier nice to have you in , thanks she sure is a beast eh. i vegged this girl for about 35-40 days and growth was explosive! it was a big clone to start but i account this amazing growth to the 100% perlite setup i have going with auto feeding every 3 hours, its truely a miracle system! i could for all intensive purposes not even be here when she is growing i could have everything setup auto and just walk away :D love it. but i dont trust leaving a setup like this unattended tooo many things to go wrong. like i say this is some of the best growth ive seen and it is the frst time ive used this new method most ways of growing ie tried seem to take a bit longer in veg ...... it all depends on your strain and enviroment as well really hard to say but on average most people veg 2-4weeks some go loger some dont vegg at all its really up to you nd how big of a bush ya want :D cheers hope this helps.

really would trust those to do much in the grow room .... i suggest saving up a bit of coin and buying an led panel ..... i bought my first one of craigslist for 150$ or something it was a "120w" chinese led panel not sure what the true wattage was but it did well over a few 12/12 from seed gals and i know it would do just fine over one full sized plant.

Sup guys! I'm a first time grower, and im trying to get up and running at low cost using a single LED bulb for a single plant. I'm using this low watt bulb http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/led-household-bulbs/10-watt-LED-grow-bulb/623/

Let me know what you guys think of this bulb, I'm curious about how more experienced growers think my plant will grow under it.
$60 bucks for a 10w don't do it you'd be better off going with like a grow spot from sunshine systems but even that i wouldn't recommend to grow a full plant by itself. i saw a grow where someone used a pro-grow 21x for a single plant with good results. and a kessil would be ideal for a single plant grow the cost has come down on older models

http://www.kessil.com/products/h150_led_grow_light.php
http://www.sunshine-systems.com/GrowSpot-LED-Grow-Light-p/gs-spot.htm

the grow spot is only 12w but its a good build quality i've got one for supplemental in my cabinet

and for same price you can get kessil for you could get an ok quality ufo light just gotta shop around

Yeah, I sort of figured as much. This seed is a test seed, so it's not extremely important that it flourishes, I'm just using it to test my grow-box and get the kinks out. I'm saving up for a inline fan/carbon filter right now, but after that I'll start saving for a more quality LED.

I also have another question for experienced LED users. What should I look for in an LED? I've heard I should stick to name brands since the LED grow industry is rather new, and there are less reliable knock-offs floating around. In terms of lumens/watts/brand/heat-sink/etc, what should I be looking for?

i suggest reading all 568 pages of this thread ........ just kidding :D , basically you want a light/company that is priced well , has a warranty to back it up , has lots of info on the site about their product , has good customer service stuff like that usually means they have a good product. if your looking to go cheap check out blackstar led's they work well and are priced good but they only have a 1 year warranty and they do not advertise true wattage on there panels(something to look out for in this industry) if ya want quality and have a bit more to spend check out VIPAR led best results ive seen from any panels ive used and there not even that expensive :) cheers man hope this helps.

Hm, I think when it comes time to replant my little sprouties in a bigger pot I'll go with a perlite soil. :D Certainly doesn't look like it's any more expensive than what I'm using now! What is it that you're autofeeding every three hours, and if I were to start using that on my plants now (12 days old) would it hurt them since they're young?

I'd suggest checking out the grow journal, see two 90watters give off equivalent of 800w HPS power. Its all about the red and blue spectrum that makes or breaks an LED.

i use general hydro flora nova series 2 part nutes as well as massive and koolbloom additives in flower. general hydro nutes are very easy to use and yes i think you could start using nutes on them very very diluted solution of coarse .... actually might want to wait a few days i think most people start feeding around the 2-3 week mark.

Haha, yeah, I figured the answer would be in the thread but I'm way too lazy to sort through all that! I am looking for something cheap, but I don't want to sacrifice too much quality, so I'm willing to spend a little more if it's worth it. I'll check out those sites though, thanks man, definitely helped.

also check and see if the warranty transfer if to another owner if you sell it, almost bought and advanced led diamond series off craigs list in Seattle from a dude claiming it had 2 years warranty still. i called advanced led about it and they told me the warranty is registered to the original owner not the light!!!! i almost got scammed. check my journal to see what im using now. my warranty transfers with the lights fyi! helps resale value big time,
