I thought I'd share this low wattage experiment with you all.
A 4ft x 4ft tent.
~ 270 wall watts.
16.875 watts per square fòot
DIY Fixture size 39" x 24" - 1m x 600mm. Driver MW HLG 240H - 48A
5 x 2ft strips. Each strip has120 Samsung LM301Bs, with 6 x Samung LH351H Deep Red (660 nm) and 2 x Cree XPG3 730NM Diodes.
I've had these strips a couple of years now.

This is in my late veg, early flower tent.
The plants get moved to my main flowering area in a week or so.
The 4 x plants are RQS Royal Gorilla clones in diy soil mix at day 22 of 12hrs on, 12hrs off.
Tomatorite for feed.
It just shows how little wattage you can get away with using leds ;)
Enjoy

l forget to turn light up after dimming all the time, 60w in 4x4 and they pray hard but no bad side affects. Thanks to your post l know l wasnt hurting them now. Agree that spectrum is most important.

What's the spectrum on the whites, 3500k?

Adding a little red sure makes a difference. I think spectrum is more important the lower the light intensity; Emerson effect is apparently inexistent over 600par I heard. So kinda makes sense to add to veg as well.

Ì honestly can't remember whether it's 3500K or not.

Not sure this the right forum for this comment, but I’m a first time LED user, and tho I was warned, I started my lights at 30” above plant, but over time inched them closer and closer - until they were roughly 18” above plants. What a dummy. Now I’ve got burnt leaves, no smell, and they’re not very “glittery” with trichomes. I can only hope for partial success - maybe. So, painful lesson learned- any newbies out there, learn from my dumb-ass, be careful about where you place your lights.
Has anyone else done this? If so, how bad was final your product?

Keep lights pretty close, but no burning or bad effects like youve experienced.

They are probably 3000K or 3500K. I couldn't really see diyled using 4000K.
Edit - they are 3000K
The strips are great for spreading the light out. I don't think I'd get as good a result with 2 x Quantum Boards at the same wattage in the same area as the light would be quite concentrated in the centre and very weak at the edges.
4ft strips would be the best overall option I'd say.

Love the last photo up through the top bit of growth. Would you say the progress is standard for Royal Gorilla at this stage?
