Legal but not to grow

My home state of Illinois voted to end cannabis prohibition January 1st. The original bill would have allowed us 5 plants per household. The bill that passed allows us 0 unless a medical patient. I was so happy yesterday I didn't think too much about it. This morning my cheerios seem extra soggy.

So close yet so far away.

Still though how much effort are the law men going to put into screwing a guy over for growing a plant that is now legal?
Better than nothing. Hopefully they will amend the laws further in time.

I assume you can just become a medical patient , everyone's got a bad back !

Not everybody can have a medical card and still keep their job. That's why the black market will never die.

Finding a doctor here that will set you up can be kinda difficult. I know 2 guys that have one. One got hit by a train and the other has a huge list of medical problems glaucoma being one.

Hang in there, times are a changing! You will be doing the same thing I just did this morning in a couple years . . . Putting out Sundae Strudel plants for my outdoor garden!

the new passed version sucks dick tbh
A lot of the bill didn't go they way I thought it should. Personally I would have liked to have seen all the state's growers/ distributors be nonprofit/ co-op. I would have liked to have kept big money out of it. Without big money and Madigan we never would have got here though.

I guess you can't win them all.

The problem is, you're right. They won't go hard after MOST people for growing a plant, they'll just fine them and get their money.

They also will go hard after people they want to fuck over, political dissidents, minorities and dirty hippies that pissed the cop or prosecutor off.

This kind of "legalization", is a win-win for the police state. Fuck them.

Hopefully people in Illinois will learn about juror nullification and use it.

Holy crap. Just grow it. Been growing it somehow and somewhere since 64 and back then in Texas you got hard time for even a joint. Just keep your mouth shut about it. Loose lips sink ships. These cops don’t just suddenly receive this knowledge by osmosis. Just keep it to yourself. I know it’s disappointing. One reason I pulled from Washington quickly. Because the licensed people rat out the black market growers.
