I'de think i would try the spray. Or maybe a little of both? Hope it doesnt happen to me.

Good idea on maybe lowering the res water a little. So that airstone doesnt blow so much water on to the AG sponge. Maybe a solution there.

As for cloning. No clue there. Tons of pics on this forum and guides on which ones to pick. And all the clone products to put on stems. I think people say not to use any nutrients at the start. I have read people use them. So many ways i guess it can get confusing.

But maybe getting a clone just in case you're baby dies. But i dont think i see that happening. You can get it under control!

Thanks Fox! I got the day off work tomorrow, so I'll hit up HD and Lowe's, try and find that Daconil stuff you mentioned...

I assume that's what you mean?

How much of it should I spray on...and will it damage the other plants that AREN'T rotted if I accidentally hit 'em with it?
That's it exactly. Give it a couple squirts on the stem. It's kind of thick. It won't hurt anything if you get it anywhere, it dries up.

cardinal, i actually must have missed that thread....I really hope it's not that Pythium horror!
The plant seems more or less hardy though, should I try scraping off the brown part, or try the Daconil first?

Also, it seems to be partially a moisture issue...keeping the AG reservoir partially-full should help here, right? Less chance of excess water reaching the grow sponges and whatnot?

Also, I guess a Humidity meter is now on my shopping list...
I'm pretty sure what I had was Pythium. It started to turn black after awhile, that's when I decided I needed to fix it.

I don't know about scraping off the brown stuff cause I didn't spray it then, like I mentioned above.

Definitely a good idea lowering the res level.

Thermometer/Hygrometers are 6 bucks at walmart.com.

By the way, what should I look for when cloning? As in, how high up on the plant should I pick a branch from, and should I look for one with X side-branches already?

One with large leaves, or one with small leaves?
Here's the plant I'm considering cloning from...

Cloning I'm not too sure about. I hear you're supposed to cut about 3 nodes down from the top on a branch. I don't think it matters which branch as long as it seems mature enough.

Grabbed some Daconil at Lowes today, only $3 bux! Also got a Temp/Humidity meter, again 3 bucks...

I'll let you guys know how it works!

That said, follow-up question...My finances are iffy right now, so will it be too much of a problem to flower the plant with FoxFarm Veg nutes for the first couple weeks?
I understand that the ratio's arent ideal, etc etc...but its not a BAD thing to use Veg nutes, just less good, right?

Sweet!

Using the veg nutes will be OK for the first week or two, but you really need to get some flowering nutes too. They'll start having phosphorous deficiency's among others.

Yeah...the only hydro store I know of is up by my "other" house, and i dont plan on goin back up there for another week or two...
If the Daconil works, I may just let it Veg till then anyway :)

Might be a good idea, we'll just have to see how it goes.

After a couple hours chilling next to the AG, Humidity meter shows ~45....is that alright?
If not, what's the best way to raise/lower humidity in a closet-grow?

I just applied it yesterday, so no real results yet...if anything, it may have gotten a bit bigger, but it could just be a trick of the light. I hope to have some results by Sunday, if not, I'll spray it again...

Fox, you said once a week, yeah?

That's what it says on the bottle, I did it every 5 days. I only had to use it twice before it was gone.

So I got to thinking today, and I definitely think I need to flower 'em soon, ideally starting in August. Not only because of size limitations(they're already a foot tall), but because I don't wanna be sitting here in December with nothing to smoke...

I figure I'll let em veg till the end of July, then kick in flowering...

What are your guys' thoughts on the 24hr/48hr/etc dark period before flowering? Do it, don't do it, or do something else?

If they're a foot tall now, they will be around 3 feet tall when they stop stretching during flower. Just keep that in mind with how much room you have.

I did 24 hrs. It kind of jump starts them into flowering. I don't know if 48 hrs will make any more difference.

yeah, the height tripling is why I'm leaning towards flowering soon. I'm 6-foot myself, and my head just reaches to the top-shelf of my closet. With the AG itself, the shelf it's on, etc...I probably have just about 3-4ft of grow-space available vertically, so I'll definitely need to flower before they get too big

edit: as for the stem issues, it looks to have stopped spreading, but I gave it another little bit of spray just now, to make sure it doesn't :)

Sounds good, I'm glad the stem problem has stopped. :hump:

Yeah, definitely gonna need to flower soon. I flowered earlier this time around and still ran out of space, hahaha!

Update time! Went to raise my AG hood this morning, and realized I can't...so I pulled it off entirely. Once the plants boost in height, I think I'll set it upside down(lights up) on the shelf here, use it to light the bottom growth eventually

Daconil ftw! Thanks Fox, you da man!
The girls are quite thirsty at this point, chugga chugga chugga...which is good! More chugging = more growth!

In Pics 4 and 5, you can see a stretchy branch off to the right-hand side. It's got nice leafage, a couple nodes...seems like a good one to use for cloning, whaddya think?

Also, re: Flowering...money is tight, and I wanna limit myself to 1 flowering product for now. Should I just go with FoxFarm Big Bloom, since I used FF GrowBig already? Or is there something out there that's more effective for flowering?

What's the deal with Tiger Bloom...schedule says to use it sparingly, is it an additive or something?

So far so good....I've been keeping the lights at less intensity, and moving them around to try and keep it from bustin' out in one direction. Running out of space to the sides, so now the lights gotta go vertical! :joint:

The stem rot has stopped(Thanks again Fox!!), roots look good, Water temp is at 80, room temp is at 90, and humidity at a consistent 50 :hump:

:peace: :peace:
