What makes a plant bud is the change in hours of light it receives. Switching to 12 hours on and 12 hours off is what triggers hormones in the plant to begin flower production. During the year this naturally occurs around the end of summer as daylight grows shorter. Also the Sun hangs lower in the sky during this time and leads to more red spectrum light making it to Earth. The idea is to mimic these conditions as best as possible, so educated folks will flower with red spectrum dominant light sources. Also do I have to change my cfl color to make my plant start budding I am useing bright white now let me know
