So I was looking up marijuana laws in states and I have come across something called Tax stamps... Basically from what it seems like is if you got a tax stamp from the federal government, you can sell weed in a state like Georgia or South Carolina. The only reason its illegal to posses it is because you don't have any tax stamps because the federal government won't issue any.

Is this correct?

That's a part of the government lie, but basically you are correct. The government is about to be called out on many issues including the ridiculous reasons they won't allow farmers to grow hemp. Election time is coming up and it's going to be a real shakedown. We the 'people' have had enough of Corp, lying, theiving, political America.

Sick world we live in these days. Sad thing I read up on a few lawyers cases from the whale's to the small fish. One guy had a Motion to revoke his probation due to possesion of cocaine. Well he hired the best lawyer in town and they used a fancy paper saying that he did not know he needed a tax stamp for possesion of less than twelve grams. Or something of that nature but he was off the hook.

i think this is part of the old federal law when MJ was illegalized by congress in 20's
my understanding is that has been replaced by drug scheduling/DEA, tax stamps are part of history

federal tax stamps are a bunch of crap. even if you were to somehow acquire the appropriate amount of stamps for whatever you were busted with, the most it would do for you is get you out of tax evasion charges. it wouldn't make it legal.

in massachusetts the state tax stamp was struck down by the SJC because it was conditional on committing a crime (among other reasons) but you can still purchase the stamps from the department of revenue. pretty much just a collector's item.

Growone is correct. They originally kept anyone from possessing ganja by requiring a tax stamp that was never issued.
Now it's a matter of it being a super dangerous drug worthy of being on the Schedule one narcotics list. LOL

Someone should suggest they charge 50 bucks per plant grown on the stamp program nation wide. That should pretty much take care of the deficit. lol Might work
