Did some reading,I use a lot of kelp.2 cup to 1 of my other amendments.Kelp is a good source of Fe isn't it?

Craft Blend is good stuff. Last time I ordered the 25# bucket. It does have lots of Ca in it, so I haven't been using it sparingly since my water already has plenty of Ca I'm guessing, and I think too much Ca has given me issues before.

I've got a $5 code for new members over there, so hit me up if you ever decide to get something from them.

It's a mystery to me what the nute levels are in my pots now. I've just been trying a bunch of different stuff trying to learn.

I've been dealing with the same shit with my plants lately, but I've been really lazy with top dressing too. I'll figure this shit out someday, lol.

It's pretty forgiving. I would throw like 1 cup at a time on my 15 gal pots. It's never burned my plants at all. They have a recommended amounts on theirs site. It's awesome stuff, but I was thinking it might be adding more Ca than I need.

But like I said, I have no idea how much Ca is actually in my soil since I've never had it tested. Speaking of BAS, I just ordered a bag of corn steep to try last night.

Im in Canada and have all I need from local stores.Just trying to get a feel for how much to add after ea cycle.

I been recycling some mix every time for over 10 years and now use about 60% used mix that’s been sitting for a few months. Find myself adding SPM, EWC and Cotton Burr Compost but very little perlite or NAPA 8822. Some portion is several years old as I can pick out rice hulls I haven’t had in ages. It get easier and easier, very rarely see any deficiencies and it’s so mu+h fun.

Yes there is some but it’s uptake is on an ionic level. Mostly not plant available. Water soluble is a whole different game.

same with other minerals. Their is tons of ca in my soil but just a small frAxtion is plant ready so to speak.

Build a soil also makes re amendment kit for soil re use, works great for me

With Sulfur,,,30% water soluble,sooo can we OD them with Fe?

Gotchya. And you get a big fade with that much top dress? My gut says your soil is over fertilized. Not sure exactly the mechanics of top dress a sip but my common sense guess is their is less nutrient mobility than traditional top down irrigation.

I prefer A base of equal parts peat/ compost/ aeration. I think it just increases CEC that much more with the extra 10-15 percent humus material.

I'm in the same boat as myke with re amending my soil with about half strength of what I put in originally after every round and letting sit for the current round. I'm on my 3-4 round with the 2 batches I'm using. Same as myke if I don't keep on top of my top dress I end up with deficiencies, like right now I got to lazy and didn't top dress two of my bigger plants when I first switched to flower and they are having N def at week 3, I saw it coming on so I've been fighting it off for a couple weeks but if I had just top dressed them two with 444 they would be all green right now like my smaller plants.
Also I use blumats so I just top dress right under the drip line and let the water slowly run through the top dress.

I went the other way, use cheap inputs for building my soil, stuff I buy by the bushel for the most part. Then when the cycle is finished I save the soil for tomato pots and when that’s seen a cycle I toss it. It’s a hybrid of ways, use organic until about the 30 day mark and then synthetic nutes from there on out. It keeps the soil volume from having to be too large for a truly organic grow. In my best estimate you’d need a 15 gallon soil for each plant at about 6 week veg to go the distance for water only, maybe it’s different but going organic means going larger.

If I were reammending I’d stick only to plant matter and add 1 cup of alfalfa, 2 cups of wheat bran, ewc, that sort of thing. Less chance of overdoing it and causing lockout

I veg a clone a week to a week and a half in a 2 gallon pot and top dress every 2 weeks roughly and end up with 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 ounces(strain dependent) of beautiful bud

I've read that fe levels above 4ppm can cause problems and above 10ppm can be toxic.

I use Gaia green products, just top dress the all purpose and power bloom in different ratios throughout flower. At start of flower 75/25 all purpose/power bloom sometimes just all purpose, then 50/50 and closer to end of flower 25/75 mostly power bloom
