License questions for the vets.

My doctor signed my recommendation on Nov 18. I sent it out on the 19th, and I'm wondering when my protection goes into effect. I've done some researching and am coming up with two different things. One says when I get my card, the other says after 35 days if I'm not denied. (does anyone get denied?)

Does this state have a protection clause? I in some states your protected once your recommendation is signed. It's depressing with wait times and lack of dispensaries I'd be looking at close to 4 months before my first harvest.

Background info: I have fibro, polyarthagia and migraine headaches (lasting 2-3days). My doc recommended MMJ due to my allergic reactions to opiates.

Thank you for your time and answers!

First I'd like to say welcome aboard and I hope that you're feeling healthy my friend! You're going to meet lots of good people in the program and I'm sure you are looking forward to this :) I am 99 percent positive you WILL NOT be denied your card. You have a qualifying medical condition and your doctors word is what gets you that into the program, the state merely runs the program that issues the pretty little card that we all hold so dear. I empathize with you because I too suffer from debilitating sinus headaches and migranes which are still in the process of being diagnosed, but its looking like I'm going to need surgery (this is not why I have my card, but the medicine certainly helps me with this ailment like nothing else)

I wouldn't consider myself "vet" by any means, bur to give you some insight on your question,I was told that you are protected as soon as you have your recommendation, and common sense: as long as you are safe and smart you will not have any problems. Should you have any issues with the law, because things do and can happen sometimes, you shouldn't be too concerned. Even if you were to be charged (god forbid) your incident would be dismissed without a doubt in my mind. You should be expecting your letter from the DOH about a month after you mailed your MMJ application in, which will instruct you to go to the DOH to have your picture taken and get your hard copy card. Sit back, relax, and smile because you're well on your way to medicating legally now, its just a matter of time :) Goodluck! Hope this helped a little atleast.

Thank you very much for the info and the warm welcome JeosOne you have been informative and very helpful. I wish you luck with the headaches and hope you have a speedy recovery if you do need the surgery.

I got arrested while waiting fOr my card. The doctors paperwork was enough to have the charges dropped and my close to 2 ozs returned by the police

That is very good to hear Mattysville. I'm glad patients are protected with the Dr.s recommendation. Takes a load off my shoulders :)
