Do a search on Youtube, I've seen some comparsion videos out there. I don't think many people on here use LED they stick with the tried and true methods. If you want to keep costs low people use the floros and cfl's, but if you have some $$ to spend people go with the HID. I started with floro's and switched to HID's and I have noticed a world of difference.

anyone grow with a lb400?

i'm thinking about picking one up tomorrow...either would love to hear some

input from a proud/unhappy owner... rather not hear the usual led trash talk....

i realize while hps might be better, but in my situation (if it works) it seems like a bargain that can be supplemented with small hps (50-70) or a few soft cfls.

I think the potential for LED's like that UFO I see all around would be amazing in a small cabinet/grow box because of the minimal heat they put off.

I mean think of sticking a 400wMH/HPS in a Rubbermaid without the heat issues of the HID. They are surely amazing in that aspect but to be spending $500 on a UFO seems crazy.
If you've got the cash I'd say get one. They will be the wave of the future for growing IMHO.

They get trashed b/c they dont put out anything near the lumens that an HID light does.. oh, and the price tag being 5x that of a HID

Best of luck.. I'll watch if you start a journal, curious to see how it goes

These LED posts are just advertisements, day in and day out, the person always has less than 5 posts.

I vote you can't speak of LED's until you have 300 posts !!!!!

LOL. naw i'm not advertising. i've been here for a while...i'm not going to post useless stuff to jack up my total post counts in order to sound informative. but here's a picture of the initial setup which is being reworked sorta. i'm going to try setting it up with my other T5 (23 watts) fixture too.

im not trying to sell leds, nor replace hps. i'm trying to get the best under my set of circumstances. imo 400 watt hps would work great, and i actually have one too...but i have been having some issues with it (issues that are significant enough to use LEDs...LOL).

i would say the led is ~12 inches away from the plants. T5 is like maybe a few inches.

I did read a little bit about it and it is alot better than that UFO piece of junk that keeps getting brought up and the LED's are from a company that specializes in high output LED lighting.

HPS is the best way to go but if you must get LED I'd say this is one of the better choices.

I have the TI Smartlamp 600 with the Probloom option. It works fairly well, but my 600 watt hps works better. I would never buy the Lightblaze 400, as they totally coppied the Procyon. If you want the real info on led lights you need to go over to greenpinelane.com ***Note this is not a website that sells leds. It is strictly devoted to growing plants with them (not marijuana)*** I hate the crazy claims the ufo led and china panels make, they are never true!

what if you combine Led and HPS. Maybe thats the future. the more light and correct spectrum the better right?

I think some of the blue leds combined with the hps would be very good, maybe a few whites as well.

But eventually it's all going to be leds and then probably oleds. Once the price drops to about 1/3 what it costs now, that's when the majority of people will switch to leds.

That light is awesome and compares to the Procyon 100. Only difference is that the Procyon doesn't have a adjustable light switch. I've seen some canadians flower some dank ass frosted ass nugs with two of those lights... As well as the Procyon u just have to be willing to spend like 500-600 bucks a piece though.. I use LEDs and CFLs for my grow incubater do to heat issues aswell. Good luck buddy that baby should do fine for all stages. Just keep it like 6-8 in above the canopy.

Of course it compares to the Procyon, as they're pretty much the exact same light. The only difference is the adjustable light switch. But you don't need that switch, there is NO reason to have it. Because it only lowers the light of both the blue and red leds. If it lowered the two individually, then it would be great. The lightblaze people were actually sued by the guy who makes the procyon. The leds used are the same, the number used is the same, the positioning is the same, the watts are the same.
