Light comparison

A friend loaned me a 3000 watt Wakyme Led light to help me out until I could get my own lighting and tent set up.

This is the link to the Waykyme: https://www.amazon.com/WAKYME-Function-Spectrum-Thermometer-Adjustable/dp/B07XY35TLV/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=3000W+LED+Grow+Light,+WAKYME&qid=1625610976&sr=8-6

How does that light compare to this 600w viparspectra

It seems to me that these different wattage ratings are confusing.
I am new to growing and have my first grow started. I have been making every newbie mistake so I can get them out of the way.
Despite not knowing what I am doing the plants have survived for 4 weeks now.
I am spending a lot of time on this board and other resources reading and trying to learn enough to make it to harvest.
Any help is appreciated.

Save your money and get a Mars hydro ts1000 . Depends on your tent size. The 3000 one your buddy loaned is better than the 600w viper.I have done both the viparspectra and the Mars. You will like the white light better. If can affoard the 2000 or bigger then even better. All depends on tent size on what you will need

So you’re telling him to get a 100w light, when the one he’s using is 320w?

Just purchased the Cloudlab 632 grow tent 36" x 20" x 62"
This is the largest size I can fit in my place.
I have 9 plants that I will reduce to the best 3, so will be trying to grow 3 plants in this tent.

Not sure where your getting I’m telling him to get 100 watt light. 150 actually. But for his grow tent size that 3000 is too much for that space and will have to actually use that dimmer for sure and hope you don’t think for vipear 600 is 320 watts. But that’s why I said if wants look at the Mars 2000 or even bigger if wants equil to that 3000. Think he would like the white full spectrum versus the burple and am running two of the ts1000 in a 3x3

As for the wattage, it's deceptive marketing lies. Good light companies clearly state the actual wattage and the better ones have their lights tested by an independent lab. Mars does not.

Forget those blurple disco lights, white light is where it's at.

Eh, I bought a Viparspectra XS2000 recently and I'm pretty stoked to say the least. I think it's ironic that this guy didn't test a Viparspectra because they didn't furnish a report and then states his own independent findings as more reliable than reports. So... why not test a Viparspectra at all then?

I have a vipar s2000 dimmable in my 3x3 tent, got it for $120 it states that it uses 395w+3%,i can assure you a can grow pretty good stuff and i’m very happy with the results, but i cant compare it to others.my next light is gonna be a white spectrum from HG,if you look at new youtube videos of growers they all use white full spectrum, burple seems to be an old thing.

Pulled early and not a good example of what it can do

I didnt try to do an example, and those are lateral buds with over 10 weeks in flower before harvest.I’m ok with criticism but a smart person would follow it with some suggestions...
No just noting they were pulled and early underdeveloped . My suggestion would be get more quality light but most don’t like that suggestion. Soooooo there’s that. I was simply stating the obvious your example wasn’t a good one for the light.

Yah I know. As for post from Mars hydro ill pass. I know what I’m looking for in lighting and what I need. Same reason I’m getting 10 ai3’s from fohse to run in one of my rooms. Not only do they use good chips and such but are built like a tank and they are a true 1500 watt monster.

Please let me know how they do. I'm very curious. I am starting to get serious about moving away from my HIDs. First I have to install a several zone minisplit so I'm stuck there LOL. I've been eyeing those.

That's the story of indoor growing always looking for a better light! I began with a 250 HPS.

I'm thinking that Mars hydro pitch was a bit of FUD. Fear, uncertainty, doubt. That's how mainframe computers used to be sold. F****** IBM.

Not that it didn't have a bunch of great information. I would just like specific information on the rate of dimming on the cheaper LEDs if they're going to compare against and try to sell their stuff on that point.

Anyway I fully expect of that when my cheap LED bars lose some output in the next year or so I'll merely move them closer to the plants. I have 730 Watts available that I paid around $390 for in four fixtures. Way overkill for the environment (4x4) and will give me years of cheap usage, or I'll replace them individually with something cheaper as they die.

I found the comp I played on CP to be the best way to judge a future LED purchase.
Most of the 18 players who made it to the finish line were using LED.
It would be hard visually to tell which buds were better, they all looked similar to me. Health of plants was also similar throughout.

It's was a summer grow in the desert with ffof so I guess HPS would have crushed it if the comp was in the winter and I had a better soil mix but for a summer grow I think the LED savings will be worth it next year. ;)
