For a 4x2 you want run a HLG-320H-48A or AB. That's what I run. I have 4 boards in that space, not two, but you would run the same driver. You can also run them on a HLG-480H-48 or 54 driver but only at 450W (225W max per board). You need to dim the driver.
So 300 watts in 8 sq feet?what do you yield then mate?

I don't monocrop, so I usually have staggered harvests with some plants coming down in 7-8 weeks, others in 9-10 and some up 14 weeks. The most I've pulled that way is 32oz. I usually get a minimum 24oz each run and the driver is pulling 365W from the wall delivering about 345W to the boards.

That’s an amazing average for that space, that’s more than I get for with 600 watts of led.

You should easily be getting that with 600W of LED. I would get close to that with 600W of HPS back in the day: 3.5lb per 1200W on average.

But you have to remember that when I grow sativas they flower for 50% longer than indicas (12 weeks vs 8 weeks), so that does make a difference to the overall yield.

This guy gets close to 24oz on average per 350-400W fixture using the same High Light boards. He has yielded up to 28oz from one plant, but normally his yields are around 20-24oz per plant/per light

I’ve been growing 16 years and always have beautiful healthy plants grown lovingly in coco, but these yields show I still have much to learn.

Do you hand water or auto water in coco? And how long do your strains flower for? Also, what style do you grow? I guess if you have 600W of LED it will also depend on what type of LEDs you're running. There are lots of factors that affect yield.

I use Wilma systems, with 3 year old quantum boards for flower, I do kind of a lazy a scrog and my plants generally come down after 9 weeks, they always look really healthy and I expect bigger yields from the look of the buds but, when they’re dry and manicured I get 500/550 grams per tent.

That’s not terrible but not great either. Some pics would help to get a better idea of how full the canopy is and if you are harvesting early.

I’m on my first run with LED’s so I’m not sure how much better they yield just yet. I’m used to shooting for 1-1.5 GPW with HPS but I see people claiming 2-3 GPW with LED which makes me wonder if they really are that much more efficient or if people are weighing every little bit of larf.

I’ll post up some pics next week, they’ll be 4 weeks in by then and maybe you’ll be able to see what I mean.
Thanks for replying.

You should be able to get 1.5gpw quite comfortably with LED. I used to average 1.3-1.4gpw under HPS. Most of the LED grows I've set up, including my own, have been around the 1.8gpw mark. 2pgw is definitely something to aim for under LED, but 3gpw might be stretching it a bit.

@Madmungo, I dunno, maybe you're not maximising your light. I'm also wondering if your system is a "true" 600W or if that's just what is claimed. Have you measured your power consumption? I also need to quantify that when I talk of wattage, I'm referring to watts to the board, not from the wall, so that can also improve gpw figures.
