Ok so I’ve got a 80cmX80cm tent running a vipar spectra 450w led the question is the led I have used 200watts 3% which supposedly replaces a 400 watt led im thinking of upgrading to a 250watt hps for flowering , but torn between if it’s gonna use a lot more electricity , or should i get a mars hydro 1000ts just want enough coverage with better bud production and not wanting to break the bank either and also will the hps cors massive heat for that wattage and tent size ? Temps currently on like 19-25 degrees Celsius with my current led

Can't help with the led info, but I tried running one of my 600w hps @ 250w in my 4'x4' (120x120) tent today in an open reflector.
Room temp was 69F (20.5c) and tent got up to 81F (27.2c) without using an exhaust.
So, I would say you're going to need an air cooled hood most likely to run in your 2'x2'.

Last grow I ran 2.6kW hps in a 4'x8'.
They get hot :)

Best of luck!

A 250 watt HPS would be 40 watts per sqft (good for veg but low for flower) we want 50 - 60 watts per sqft for flower when using HPS.

A 400 watt HPS would be 64 watts per sqft

The TS1000 throws 150W - about 60W less than your current Viparspectra 450 Reflector - and like their blurple predecessors, still lacks sufficient red wavelengths for that baffo flowering. Other than the passive cooling and a thinner SMD style design, it's really not as much of an upgrade from your current LED as you might think.

Your Viparspectra is a great VEG light. I still using my 600W Reflectors in VEG and the girls get real bushy under them. If you were going to shell out for a TS1000, have you looked at the Timber Daisies or HLG QB's for your flowering?

wow thanks so much for the led reply , yeah this led seems to kick ass overall so far have nothing bad to say bout it , it’s just a bit small , in physical size to hit all corners of the grow tent , will have a check into the hps now
