Light timing Question

I just wanted to get some opinions.....I want to have the dark period during the veg cycle between noon and 6pm. If I am ready to flip my lights on for the first time around midnight should I go 12 hours on and 6 hours off and then start my 18/6 cycle? Or should I let it run for 36 hours on/ 6 hours off and then start 18/6 cycle? I have to do it this way because of my schedule or I would just wait until 6pm and start the 18/6. Thx for all the help!

You can choose to flip to 12/12 @ any time you choose. Once the 12/12 flip is initiated is when you will need to stick to a strict schedule to induce flower. If you wanted to leave them in the dark for 18-24 hrs before the flip it still wouldn't affect or stress them out.

sorry I don't mean flip as in from veg to flower, I meant turn on the lights in the seedling stage for the first time.....I want to veg for a little while. I just don't want to stress the seedling.

Ok, I gotcha. Honestly, any way you decide to start your veg lighting schedule will be fine. As long as the plants dont repeatedly experience dark periods longer than 12 hrs. Any way you mention in your original post is good but your 1st option would use less electricity, but still achieve what you are trying to do with schedule.
