Lighting and water pump question (help!)

Well I broke down and got a Canada grow box, fits 10 plants, has a 400 watt bulb.....anyway I just made sure all ppms, ph and temp of water was correct as well as the nutrients.....but I have my clones in 2 in rockwool cubes surrounded by clay balls with a drip stick to the side of the rockwool....the guy I bought it from said I should keep it in veg.cycle (18/6) for 8 weeks and then harvest....not to put it flower mode (12/12) at all. is that correct?....also in veg cycle with the lights on for 18 hours and then off for 6 hours...do I want the drip sticks/water pump to be on continous...even with the 6 hours of lights off or do I want the water pump shut off for the same time the lighting is off?...just affraid the rockwool will dry up in that 6 hours of darkness. any help would be much appreciated. thanx

check out the faq man, read the shit out of it. if you harvest during veg stage all your gonna get are leaves bro. when you start the flowering stage is when the buds start to grow. i wouldnt see anyone fukkin w/ the rockwool if it dried out in 6 hrs, itll be just fine

Ima go read the faq...but just want to make sure I understand atleast the basics.....I have 4 in clones, start them on the veg cycle (18/6) for 5 or more weeks, then switch it up to the flowering stage (12/12) for about another 6-8 weeks or until ready to harvest.....and lights and water pump are on the same time. so far is that correct. thanx for your help.

shit bro you dont have to veg that long if you dont want to, that all depends on the space you have to grow in. the plants still gonna grow a bit when you start to flower so just keep an eye out on the size and judge when you flower based on that. flowering depends on the strain. just look up as much info on the kush as possible. you should get a pretty good idea from that. and if not you want like 80% red(or foggy) trichomes. dont go too long or all the trichs fall off the plant and the smoke aint gonna be close to as good as what it could be. shouldnt be a problem w/ lights and pump on at the same time, probably makes it easier on you that way anyway

right on bro...i am gunna make a trip down to radio shack and get a 60-100x magnifier with a light to tell when the trics are ready...thanx for the info
