Lighting Controller for Sanlights

LED fam,

Does anyone know of a controller that works with the Sanlight Q series?

Sunrise/sunset , auto dim at X, auto cuttoff at Y, and preferably will control fans as well.

It can be a unit or an app/software.

It seems like just about every lighting manufacturer out there has one apart from Sanlight.

I absolutely do want a Trolmaster setup, because I'm a geek for automation and gadgets..

However, seeing as I could buy another 6 sanlights for the price of a Trolmaster, I don't know I can pull the trigger on that one!

Ahh the previous model is only 1/5th the price. That's more like it. I'll work towards the pro! Cheers :)

The pro from trolmaster isn’t worth the money unless you have a huge grow. I have a decent size grow and use the hcs1 in each room. They have plenty of functionality On their own. Those are fairly small lights are you using how many in total are you running?
i get loving tech I used to be a network engineer But the pro I’ll use in my new building.

I'm thinking foward compatibility. Yeah the Q's are small, but you can daisy chain them and you can position them for maximum efficiency. I want to replace my 375w samsungs with q'5s so ill run about the same wattage, 4x205w in a 2x1.2m footprint, which is what they recommend at Sanlight. The other option was going with the gavitas but that would be 1300w in the same space which is more power than I want to use. I could dim them i suppose but hardly seems worth paying all that money and then using them at a lower power. Also the Sanlights will actually give you a better footprint.

I like the fact the trolmaster is an all in one solution. I would settle for just a cheaper lighting control option at the moment and let my fan controller do the rest but ability to add in fire control is a huge plus. Also the fan controller I have isn't the most subtle or delicate of things, it seems to ramp up to full and drop down to min instead of deciding on a constant somewhere in the middle. Maybe with a more tailored control setting I could hit the sweet spot.

Do you use the app or software with the HC1, or just put it all into the control box ?

I use the app. 1300 watts of total usage would be a dream Lol I use about 12k of leds per room. I have dehumidifiers and ac running off the same unit granted with their dedicated box just plugged in to the trolmaster. It took some work to get them all done but well worth It.

"... apparently that brand is a classic around here ...
Any special model? .... is to compare it with other possible models of other possible controllers that I see or will see ..."

Not sure what that means...

I would run my lights off it, tube heaters, 2 fans and 2 dehumidifiers. Knowing that I have the functionality though, I'd look to add in a fire suppression system just for peace of mind. If it can give me sunrise and sunset aswell as autodim and fan ramp up if things get too hot, it's everything i want. The specs say it will do a few hundred fixtures so I should be covered! I did just see one of the videos though where it went through the various lighting adaptors but none of them said sanlight so ill have to check with them first that it will be compatible.

Is there a reason you wouldn't just go with the Sanlight dimmers?

Yep. The sanlight dimmer is a manual operation. You can have them set at X% and they stay there unless you actually go to the light fixture and change the setting. Also the sunrise/sunset feature is over 5 minutes. I wish to have the sunrise and sunset over perhaps 30m-1h. The third reason being that an automated controller can be accessed remotely. I have my guardians and fan controls remote to the room already and would like to be able to access the entire enviromental controls from one point, outside of the grow room. Lastly but by no means least, all of the other control units on the market offer auto dim and auto cutoff functions should the temperature go beyond preset values. They also control your intake and outake fans so that you shouldn't ever get the point where dimming or shutoff is required. So yeah.. the sanlight dim switch is nice... but its not fully automated, singing and dancing nice.
