lighting help for a first timerer

OOk so this is my first attempt at growing and im excited, but i want to double check and make sure i start off right. Im using a 5x5 closet that is 10ft high, i plan on dividing it into a veg room and a flower room. I will be using a hydroponic setup. For the veg room i would like to keep to mothers and probably no more than 6 clones at a time. Im planning on using T5 fluorescent tubes, probably 2 4ft tubes, or 2 2ft tubes if i could get way with it(will 2 2ft work?). For the flower room i plan on using a 400watt hps. There is no vent in the closet but one right outside the closet door so i plan on tapping into that and routing some exhaust through the ceiling. Any tips or suggestions on lighting would be appreciated(as far as how many fluorescent tubes to have or possibly cfls?)thanks

those floro tubes will be perfect for clones, I would recomend geting a mh light for the mother and puting her on 18/6,and the clones 24/0. You can get a cheap mh light from homedepot maybe 100-250 watts will be fine for keeping a single mother alive......Jmac

i got my veggin plants on 18-6..i seen a few people saying they use 24 hours light..i think they def. need a rest though!
