Lighting problems!! HELP!!!

I am running a 600 watt virtual sun hydroponics grow light system with digital ballast.
I recently moved the ballast from one location to the other and now the light won't stay on longer than 5 minutes then it shuts off. I am at a very critical growing stage and I need help fast, does anyone know why this is happening and have any suggestions on some trouble shooting ideas.

Thanks

Did you change the socket that the ballast is plugged into? How is it setup now? Into a power stip or directly to a wall outlet/timer?

check the bulb too though but thats all i can think of if you have it hooked to a strip that not grouded correctly and it keeps tripping

Is the ballast still plugged into the same electrical plug before you moved the light?
If not, you may be plugged into something in you place that is using just enough power so when you turn your light on it pops your fuse. Your most likely on a 15 amps fuse. Let us know more about what is going on.

My 2cents - When you moved the balast, did you plug it into a different circuit? Another device might be robbing it of the required power. Or, maybe in it's new sopt it's getting too hot, and doing a thermal shut-down.

If it's old, it might need an internal cleaning.

Any cable splices? Check for loose connections.

the bulb powering up then shutting off is a sign the bulb is worn out as well.

if youve been using it for awhile replace it

Ballasts have thermal cutouts - if they think it's too hot, they shut themselves down. That five-minute thing suggests to me that that's how long it takes to overheat. Make sure it's well-ventilated, maybe even set a fan blowing on it. That's a quick-and-dirty fix, but it sounds like that's what you need right now. Good luck!:peace:

My ballast is pretty new bought it in December. It is a 600 watt hps/mh virtual sun hydroponics digital ballast. I didn't unplug anything when I moved it, I just picked it up and set it back down and I came back later and the light was off. I have to unplug the ballast and plug it back in to get it to come on. Then it turns off. So hopefully it's the fuse. I took it out and I don't know what kind to replace it with. The number on the fuse is F8AH250VP. Can anyone help with the fuse info??? Thanks. Here is a pick of the top of my ballast of this helps.

216 5x20mm fuse

this is some thing i came up with but im not sure yet, and my lumatak is on so cant refer to that yet, call virtual sun and ask them for a replacement fuse what size where to get and all that if they wont provide one.

also cant see any pic but im looking for ya. you need to keep a magnatic ballast as a back up remember that as i have a backup for every digital ballast i have
