Lighting Question?

Hey whats up guys. Havent started growing or anything yet but im about to start buying my equipment. I was wondering how many watts my lights need to be. I plan on having 5 plants in a hydroponics system, growing in rock wool. Also, ive read that its best to use two diffrent sets of lights for diffrent growing times. Does the wattage of these two need to be the same? Is this method really neccesary? I was planning on flourecent in the sprouting period, and the high pressure sodium bulbs for flowering.

Any additional wisdom is appreciated greatly

**note im a beginner, most of my information could be inaccurate.

I'd say get 400/600w, you have ventilation sorted right?

Having 2 grow areas lets you turn over crops more quickly, but you can just grow the whole cycle in one area.

The wattage doesnt need to be the same, its common to use lower wattage in the veg area.

For the ventilation I think im going to have to cut a hole up to my attic. So I can bring air out through there. Would this work? Or is there a better way?
