Lighting???

My plants have just sprouted and are about 2 inch tall, ive been keeping my lights on 24/0. When should i Start changing the light schedule. I have been hearing on sites that if you keep light on for 12/12 ull have bud in 2/3 months, any more than 18 hours of light they wont flower or bud for 5 months, Is this true??

Run 18hrs until they're about 12" tall. Switch to 12/12. Within 2 weeks you should be able to spot the males and get rid of them, and in 55-70 days they should be ready to harvest depending on the strain.
