lights keep shutting off...help

I have just installed a second 1000 watt light into my grow. I have both the light plugged into a digital timer Erich is plugged into a surge protector. These are the only items plugged into the power strip. The problem is ever since I turned on the second light, it trips the surge protector and shuts down the lights.


Any ideas or advice

i would just get another timer and surge protector and use another outlet. or did you test the new light by its self to see if its a defect in the light. hook it up and unplug the old one see if it still trips on its own.

I never thought to check it on its own. I will flip, if this light is defective.

It runs fir about an hour than the surge protector shuts off

need a bigger breaker in your fuse box for that set of plugs,,.i think normal are 24 amp(uk) so ul need to get a larger one,,we poped ours with 3x600 watt evevrytime the pump came on lol
so yeh watever fuse the pluygs ur using are on ON YOUR MAIN FUSE BOX increase the fuse

U running 2 1000 watt lights off of 1 surge protector? Lucky for you the circuit is blowing instead of allowing the place you are renting to burn to the ground. Read the ratings of the power strip. Most are not rated for that type of load.. Typical load fuses in the US are 15 amp.. That roughly is 1800 watts. I would suggest running the 2nd light off of another breaker or you will be risking a fire..
