I disagree with this. CO² is widely used in Colorado's commercial growing facilities to significantly increase yields. I'm curious about how it interacts with COB LED.

And it is the first time I am concerned about cold in the growbox...in January it is cold here (lots of mountains around French Riviera...full of snow...5ºC right now!) But I still have the 600hps in the 4x4 next to the cob so for now it is ok...but when I am going to replace it with cob too...I guess it is going to be...removing the fan on the drivers when it is cold and put it in to heat the box...

I grow since a long time and I always pull between 440gr and 530gr from a 600hps (30d vegg and 70d bloom generally) way less in 2000 when I started indoor with WW...
I know many things about growing plant but there's much more I don't know...you have to stay humble to progress!
I know a guy who was a god of growing...he is stock in 2000...no improvement since...I told him since years that they are many new system and techniques to improve his grow but he is sure nothing is better than his setup...and he laughed when I spoke about cob..."only hype" he said!
Let me finish my bloom and show him the results (it is going to be hard he work where he live and never stay long far from his ladies...)he gonna be shock!

Hi, I would love to improve my growing.
I am however embarrassed by growing skills, and only have a cheap cell phone to take pics with.
My girls are growing in the garage right now with no walls on either side for 5 ft, and its cold 50*F.
Their new home, a tiny tent is coming in 48hrs though.
If there were people to help with my grow a grow log might be nice.

I've ran CO2 before & bumped yield 25-30% Havnt really been focusing on yeild too much...most of the favorite strains I held on to are average to low yeilders. Give the people what they want...organic

That being said I'm still curious to see my big Pineapple Diesel or Sour under COBs I can only imagine.

One of the reasons I have not pulled the trigger on going with CO2 was the heat generated by my HID's. Now that it appears that even with 12 COB's blazing my room's temps went up a whopping 1 degree above ambient temps in the basement.

CO2 is now a viable option that I will be taking on in the months to come.

Huh? CO² doesn't increase heat unless you're running a CO² burner, and all the literature says that raising temperature in your growroom is the best way to fully utilize CO² supplementation.

I'm at a loss to understand your fears here.

It's the sealing of the room with 1200 watts of HID's that causes me hesitation about CO2. I don't have the ability to run a splitter and the portable A/C I have sucks. My temps last summer WITH intake/exhaust venting hovered around 100 degrees.

Ahhh, I'm totally with you now. I haven't been able to run CO² for the same reason, until just now with my new heat pump.

On another thread we are discussing the results of a research paper that asserted a HIGHER nighttime temperature than daytime would itself lead to substantial yield gains, the paper said up to 25%.

Since my heat pump is also supplying hot water for home heating, I'll be able to test this theory as easily as adjusting the setting on my environmental controller.

My belief is high temps are the enemy of quality and affect the flavor and smell. Limo,did you notice this when you ran higher temps with CO2?

Electric heat may be easy, but it's expensive. Google 'heat pumps' for a discussion of the device, its functions and energy saving features.

I'm installing one in my home, where it will remove the excess heat from my growroom and use it to heat my house... and my hot water. And dehuey my growroom at night. And once it's installed, I'll be using hot water for heating my garage, patio, hot tub and a driveway ice melting circuit...

And for le piece de resistance, I'll be pushing water from this hot side circuit thru my 'water cooled CO² burner', aka tankless water heater... and thus utilising its 'waste heat' for every one of the above functions!

I believe this too, with some limits. Therefore, I don't plan to raise nighttime temperatures very much at all.

Freezing is 32F, then 180° later, 212F is boiling.

Zero F and 100F are arbitrary, so far as I know they don't correspond to anything of significance. VERY stupid, lol

And yes, there's a ton(!) of measurements under an ounce;

Generally, the chiller is the single most expensive component. You need not get a big one if you do your diligence with tub insulation. I realized that I wanted to use water for ALL of my environmental control needs, so I bought larger units to replace AC.

I've discussed my compressorless chiller DIY build that provides cooling whenever the temperature drops outside, here's a pic;
