romney is not "anti-assault weapon" he is a flacid limp dick trying to fuck a knothole.

"assault weapons" have been restricted since 1968. you have to have a special license to own one.

an "assault weapon" is:

a carbine (short barrel, short action, short stock)
a centerfire
has a detachable magazine
has selective fire, including semi-automatic, and/or burst fire, and/or automatic fire settings. if it has neither burst nor automatic fire it is a semi-automatic.

any firearm with burst or automatic fire is classified as a "Machine Gun" under the 1968 Omnibus Crime Bill. thus "assault weapons" are already restricted to the limit allowed by the law, constitution and court rulings.
the "assault weapon" bans do NOT ban fully automatic pistols, submachine guns, grease guns, trench brooms, street sweepers, belt fed machine guns, gatling guns, mini guns, or flechette guns. these are all controlled by the 1968 Omnibus Crime Bill as well.

what we really need is a ban on Assault Boats
