Lollipop question

Well if you look at previous posts it's pretty obvious who you should listen to. I don't mean to insult miccy here but having a huge airy bud in your profile pic isn't really helping your argument.
No insult taken mate, profile pic was from my very first grow back in 2008, lol. Since then I have built and run a number of large grow ops and tried a lot of the different training and pruning techniques, and found that defoliation with LST has provided me with the most consistent results, and lolipoping, while it does produce some very nice sized colas, ends up with a lower over all yield, which is fine for personal stashes, but when every gram counts, it's a terrible choice.

I dont lollipop as such as I believe that means removing whole branches,I just strip lower branches of everything bar the grow tip,as this will sit outside the plants canopy so being a grow tip and getting plenty light it will grow into a nice dense bud.Look at the lower branches on these;the plant in the middle is a kush I mainlined for 4 tops.
If youre going to try mainlining then build your plant off the first nodes of the first node, that is top at the first node then top the two new grow tips at their first nodes,as growth is much quicker

This is basically what I was saying. Lollipopping strictly means only having 1 stem with the bottom 1/3 trimmed. This is counter-intuitive if you have 3 plants you're looking to fill in a 400-600W canopy. This is because you need some of those side branches to fill the canopy outward. If you have fewer plants, you'd need fewer branches. per plant.

The reason for topping is to keep all the branches in the canopy even, so the main doesn't grow taller than the rest..

In the loose sense, you could call thinning the lower 1/3 of each branch as "branch lollipopping". (term i made up?)

Btw, don't thin out the leaves on the branches, just the shoots that haven't stretched to canopy level yet. If you cut a branch that's already reached the canopy, you've wasted a lot of time imo.

Hey man ic3 hit it on the head...its basically bonsai weed plant...after first couple grows u will be able to tell what bud sites will be worth it and not...its like a painting, u have to go in with a vision, a plan. Lollipop along with early fimming and under canapy trimming are the way man.

I suggest doing it all gradually as to not stress the girl again its best to have a game plan.

If u grew her out with no training u still can help urself by trimming away small stretched out budsites prior to flipping...allways in veg and gradual trimming is better than all at once.

Im gonna post pics here come 2 weeks of my shit little.popcorn and my football sized nugs...imagine if all the energy went to the colas!

Happy trimming partner
