I like the gh but i want to be organic i am a strong believer in organic foods and against anitbodies and processing.

i know soil is good and to me the only way to be truly organc but i want to what untill i get more room to use soil plus im limited to indoors.

I have to advance mother earth tea but its made with synthetics so its not true but way better than all the chemicals gh has

I just induced my first load of stp with a little h202 and gh.
will the h202 kill the fungi

It's likely to. Hold off on the h2o2 if you're going organic

Quick last question for now :]
Concerning making guano teas. So would you say it is better to adopted the same method of fertilizing as using the SPT, like water so much first and let it sink in and then come back and pour say ONE OR TWO QUARTS of your favorite bat or earthworm tea's to let it sink in slowly and doesn't just drain quickly in to dry soil?

I got my SPT today in the mail and am ready to put it to use tomorrow morning. If I read everything correctly, NO MORE THAN ONE GALLON OF STP each week using one quart each time?

mrgreen

Yes, unfortunately Hydrogen Peroxide will kill many of the micro-beasties found in Super Plant Tonic, but not all. Since you have already mixed it up, just let it bubble - cause it will still provide your plants with many valuable trace minerals & vitamins.

Dry soil acts just like a sponge, by wetting the soil first, then coming back to fertilize a few minutes later - you ensure the fertilizer makes it to & stays in the root zone - vice quick draining into dry soil.
.
If your plants are in containers - example 3 gallon pots - you would use (3) quarts per pot - per week, because you can use one quart per gallon of soil - weekly.
.
You can use that all at once or spread it out. If your plants are in the ground, you would use a gallon (which is 4 quarts) per week - same deal - you can spread it out or pour it in all at once.
.
If in a hydro setup, you pour in 1 tablespoon of SPT per gallon of resevior water. Example - 10 gallon resevior would be 10 tablespoons of SPT per week. Two tablespoons make an ounce, so that works out to 5 ounces per week for a 10 gallon resevior.
.
Since, you are having to water frequently (due to heat) I think I'd give each plant two quarts of mixed up SPT at the begining of the week & two quarts at the end of the week. Then skip the SPT the next week (that week I'd only fertilize lightly) & repeat.
.
I always like to start slow, with new things. Hope this helps...

Your welcome. Yes, I'd add a half strength dose of SPT next week & stay with half strength weekly - which for hydro, is 1/2 tablespoon per gallon of resevior water.
.
Nute burn, possibly ? - a clash of SPT & Hydrogen Peroxide - will cause a sudden rush of highly soluble nutes to get sucked up. Don't worry - it will level out on its own.
.
With the SPT, you have to use less fertilizer than you did before & leave the H2O2 out.
.
Next feeding, add only half the amount of fertilizer you used to. Then wait a few days & see how the look. If their color is good & no signs of nute burn - at your next feeding edge it up just a hair more than that. You will not need to go beyond that - since efficent roots pull in nutes better.

I had shocked them eariler when i was tryin to stablize my PH,my water out of tap is so hard unreal. but whats so crazy i never even had a ph meter for my first attempt just tap water and nutes in a waterfarm and had no problems but not with this system.

Thanks again for the info.

Your welcome. Since you live in an area with lots of water (rivers, springs, lakes) ever consider - using one of them as your water source. I know water with high pH can be a real beast to battle. Since, filters can cost a few bucks & the replacement filters are never cheap - is there a stream close to where you live ? Just something to consider....

Just wanted to note that while I believe this has helped my plants, it is without a doubt the worst smelling concoction on the face of the earth.

No, it actually smells like anaerobic areas of an oligotropic aquarium. I know that smell well. Very, very well. The only smell that's better is a well-used protein skimmer.

We'll miss you this weekend, Ohso! Hey, have you ever read Black Elk Speaks?

Well, my three day weekend got cut short. I made it a whole thirty minutes south of Little Rock. Stopped for a coke at a quick stop & some, 80 year old geezer backed into my fiberglass boat - until it cracked. So, it's now back in my garage. Oh well, at least he was insured - it could have been worst. It kind of took the wind out of my sails.
.
So, I'll be sleeping in my bed tonight & we will make a go of it tommorrow. I'll just rent a little boat & still get in some fishing. The trucks still packed up & pointed in the right direction.
.
The old guy (who was practically blind) was real sorry, the cop who showed up was real nice & the whole thing was not to tramatic....
.
No, I have not read Black Elk speaks. I'll check it out, on my next trip to the library.
.
Keep it Real... & look out for old people - they don't see to well.....

To lessen the smell, pour it out of, then back into the bottle a couple of times a week. That adds oxygen & sweetens up the smell. You can also add a little fresh, unchlorinated water to the bottle as you use out of it.
.
The fresh water adds new oxygen for the mycho fungi to munch on, they multiply & you aren't really watering it down. Since, the mycho are actually increasing in numbers - which is a good thing.
.
They will just use their food a little quicker, but I have never had a bottle last beyond two months anyway. It says a 2 year shelf life - so they have just enough food in there to feed them for that long. I don't imagine, adding oxygen could make any major difference.
.
Keep it Real....Organic...

I've been thinking that it could also be refrigerated, just like the live bacteria that are used to jump start aquariums (nitrifying bacteria). I think I'll try that trick on a small amount of my opened bottle and see what results I net. Should they get anything else to feed on, some molasses, soil, or anything else like that?

Oh wow... Yeah, we care for my father-in-law and he lost his license because of his vision issues. Personally, having seen what an AWFUL driver he was previously, I am truly surprised it wasn't taken away earlier. He has asked me to help him get it back, and I have had to tell him that, in all good conscience, I can't. He could kill someone with the way he drives, I can't have that on my conscience.

Good fishin'!

The following is a quote I received back from the BMO folks...I had asked about its primary benefits and possible usage as a foliar spray:

"It's primary purpose is as a root inoculant. It introduces Mychorizzal Fungi into your root zone & greatly enhances your plants roots; ability to absorb nutrients & water. On a leaf surface it would only provide a weak NPK value. The type of Myco Fungi used in this tonic are endo type, which thrive in the root zone, but would be killed by UV light on a leaf or plant surface. So, I would not recommended it as a foliar spray.
As a root inoculant & plant tonic it is great. " -BMO

Hope this is useful...:peace:

Sorry to hear about your boat and weekend getting cut short! I dont know if you know where the Buffalo National River( NWA area is but i floated this weekend with my folks and it was a little to hot to be outside and considering there wasnt a current really not a good time of year to go.

I do have rivers around heck they call this place the "River Valley" lo,l but ive been using this:

International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - DIY Reverse Osmosis - For Scale Grower - Cheap, Portable, & Effective

and had great result, i modified mine (this guys tears his apart) i just added a hose to the spout and it works great i even use in indoors.

Goingreen, dude, let me tell YOU. We use that Mr. Clean thingy for washing our cars and bikes, and it WORKS, it kicks ASS. Our water is so hard that it already broke a THREE YEAR OLD WATER HEATER, for all the mineralization. Our water is so hard that we literally have a layer of ferrous-calcareous mulm on the bottom of every toilet tank. Our water is so hard that if you threw in some sand and gravel you'd have cement!

I live very near a place (in Cali) called Black Chasm. Spittin' distance. Google it, neat-O stuff (unless you're claustrophobic like my mom, she had to get out right when the tour started).
