If you are running a smaller hps bulb those candle chimneys at the big craft stores fit the bill and are a lot cheaper and instantly obtainable locally.

A big metal halide won't fit them though, but thin hps bulbs no problem.

People find those candle chimneys for as low as $5, up to $10 or so is all they cost.

Caveat: If you run over around 250w they will break from the heat of the bulb ****if the fan is not running all the time****, they are not like the pyrex "bake-a-round" that can stand any crazy heat you throw at it. That's fine if you are careful though, even if your fan went out and you lost one, they're so cheap...

yeah, check eBay for the Bake-a-rounds. I have a link in my signature for the one I made. Its clean and simple. If you goto Michael's (or any other arts and crafts store) you will find that they have a wider (maybe 6 inches or so) piece of glass you use for candles. Just an FYI though... ITS THIN AS FUCK I would just order the bake-a-round on eBay or check your local thrift store/Goodwill. People have been buying them out of there for like 2 bux. But make sure you are sober when handling that glass, I broke my bake-a-round being stupid and happy sitting on the couch.

Like 7th1der said earlier - Salvation Army Thrift-store!!! I got a Pyrex Bake-a-round for $2. (still in the box), I don't think they even charged tax! On E-Bay I think they go for around $20. plus shipping.
