Looking for a basic 400w HPS for my tiny space

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting after weeks of study, If you guys get what I mean.

Im almost set and ready to go, but i've had a problem finding a specific light set up I need.

I Have a tiny space (2ft wide,2ft deep,8ft tall) and i'm thinking I can get 1 or 2 plants under a single 400watt HPS with a few added cfl's. I believe this is possible with proper ventilation. I've been looking around on the internet (No where close to a hydro store) for a standard 400watt Hps with a non digital ballast with a cool tube attachment/reflector that could fit a 4' or 6' fan for $100-150.

I've seen ALOT of lights, but most that fit in my price range dont include the air cooled tube. Maybe it would be cheaper to get a tube that reflects, im quite confused.

I really want this set up to work, i've got everything set and ready, but i want to be perfect and steadfast on the choice of light I purchase. Any links would be helpful.

You dont really need a cooltube as a sufficient extraction fan will do the job.
To grow in a small space i would just have my 5" extractor fan mounted outside the grow box with the venting duct extracting air from the roof of the box and a simple 6" fan blowing on your lamp to keep it cool and another standing fan to blow on the plants and oscillate air around the room.

I don't know what country you're from but that electrical plug scares me! 2' x 2' is awfully small for a 400w reflector. You may not be able to fit an air cooled one in there.

I figured that a huge reflector hood would be a nono, and possibly the smallest or shortest air cooled tube to house the light. I'll have proper ventilation to the attic.

I know you said 100 to 150 but this is as close as i could find in your price range.

O and i'm from the US

You will find a lamp like mine on craigs list or e-bay very cheap and the space i have shown mine in is only 36"x32" and 8.5ft tall.
My lamp cost £50 brand new the bulb was £18 and the ballast at £30. My 5" RUCK extractor fan cost around £60 with the ducting and the small fan around £10. Everything was bought brand new.

From the research I've done, vegging with hps leads to taller plants with fewer leaves, and Metal Halide will produce a shorter plant with more leaves.

I plan on doing a grow soon, but starting with a 400w MH for veg then switch to 400w HPS for flower. You can use both bulbs on the same ballast using a "converstion" bulb found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/400-watt-MH-CONVERSION-GROW-LIGHT-BULB-Metal-Halide-HPS-/400082359006?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0
HPS lamps are better for NOT stretching plants. I did my first grow vegging on MH and CFL and nothing compares to the HPS for short stubby plants when you use the right bulb (dual spectrum) and keep the lamp as close to the plants as possible.
I threw my MH and CFL'S in the trash and would never consider growing with them again but everybody has different styles and methods
and usually stick to what works for them but its HPS all the way for me.

(plants only stretch due to S.A.R.P)
