Looking for some suggestion.

So here is the scoop. I just started flowering yesterday. First time I've had the lights off for 12 hrs and noticed it got down to 50f and the humidity was at 95% . I live in a very humid area of Alaska where it rains a shit load.almost 200 inches of rain a year . Humidity is always high it seems like . That being said, I have an intake and an outtake opposite from each other. Intake is low, outtake fan is high . Obviously my humidity is way to high. like a lot of newbies would do, i have too many plants for the room I'm using to grow. SOG. A lot of them are touching each other. haven't given them very much pruning at all but thinking I might need to, to get good air in between all of them a little better. I held off on pruning because I read that leaving it alone will allow the plant to produce more sugars. Is it too late to prune? Bushes everywhere pretty much. I have two oscillating fans going on them as well. Running with lights out as well thinking it will help prevent mold. With the lights on, I use the Intake and outtake fans for air circulation and keeping the room at 75f. Without using them it gets too hot . With lights off, I have to turn them off and cover them so no lights enters the room since my lights off period is during the day. At night it would be too cold in the mid 30's to have my lights off period. Any suggestions on how to fix the humidity and prevent mold with lights off ? I have a dehumidifier on the way, have the fans going as well. Maybe put a heater in there ? I will if I have to but I'd rather not cause most run at 1500w. I was hoping to save a little on the electricity bill during flowering stage. I'm using two, 600w HPS.

If you can put a small space heater in there it will decrease your humidity.

I have to do something. I went in there when lights went on tonight and it was 50 degrees and 99% RH. I hope the dehumidifier works . I'd hate to use a heater cause they usually run at 1500w and I can only run 1900w in the shed before the breaker pops

I have the same issue re heating my shed when lights are out but my humidity is ok. I use a heater that is 1000 watts on low and pretty sure you can get 600/1200 ones. I have mine setup so it only comes on at lights out. It's a tough call because bringing in cool air and exhausting the humid air would help but then you need to heat it. Also the fresh air is a must for a healthy grow. I use a very small (80cfm) extraction fan with passive intake that is timed for 15min every hour at lights out. The bigger fan is controlled by temp and turns on at 76. You may require a small dehumidifier as well. But yup get a heater. I'm also limited by power and really need to fix that with a new feed.

The propane heater will add moisture to the air if it is not vented.

Not if 30's, well it's gotta be drier than what's in there lol. Ventilation is always a good thing but there's the drawback that you need to heat the air. The great thing about the heater is the CO2 as you said but the moisture they add is very high.

Thanks for all the input. I found a heater that draws 750w so I'm gonna put it in there along with the dehumidifier and see what happens. Hopefully it works! Fingers crossed

How bigs your shed? Mines 8x8x8 and no issues heating it at -20 but well insulated

Mine is8x12x8 . Hearing it isn't the issue. When both 600 are gong it's hot and I have the exhaust fan going and the intake open. It's when I turn them off . The humidity goes up to 99% and it gets down into the 30's . It rains 200 inches a year here

So when your ventilating 30 F outside air your humidity still is that high huh. Where in Alaska are you? I've only been there twice and it was in August and fucking hot, I was fishing on the kvichak river a couple of times.

Yea it's gets really hot up there. Lot of people think of Alaska and picture igloos and eskimos LOL! Summer's here where I am are nice in 70's . But still rains a lot . As far south as you can get in Southeast Alaska without going into BC Canada is where I live. It's an actual rain forest here . Anyways, when the lights are running the RH is at 75, and the temp is at 75f. Soon as I turn everything off, I close both exhausts because if I don't , like comes in through them. My schedule is from 7 to 7 so Every time I go back in the room as soon as the lights come on at 7pm, the temp is all the way down to the high 40s or low 50's and the RH is maxed out . The dehumidifier came in so I'm gonna give it a whirl. I also bought a heater that runs at 700w. I'll try both and see what happens. Hopefully keep it warmer in there and bring the humidity WAYdown!

Okay I don't wanna take over your post. But my humidity is fairly low all the time. Temp usually stats around 82-86f now when I check the highest humidity that's in there it says 86 degrees 65% humidity in assuming at lights out, cause when it turns on in the,morning humidity is normal and around 30% and stays arond those numbers through out the day.. And,also,the,lowest temp is around 65-70 again normally atligjts out and the humidity reads food around 30 am I missing something? I have a mini dehumidifier in there already

Your humidity is fine I would think. 65% RH won't be an issue . The plants give off more water with lights out. Pretty sure that why I'm having such an issue. Just make sure you have them spread out and have a fan going and I think you will be ok. I would be stoked to get 65% humidity.

I've read that too. I've also read that it's not true lol I guess depending on the density of the strain that's being grown.

I went into the shed the other day and every leaf of every plant was just dripping with water but temps had got to 40 , never seen that happen before. I had turned off the heater and forgot to turn it back on.
