Looking to buy a new LED

The 1st pic is Blue Dream. My 1st grow. I used a Maxsisun MF1500 ($129.00). Then the 2nd pic is my current, Red Mandarine. With Maxsisun MF1500. So I splurged & spent the big bucks on a quality HLG LED. I figured I'd I can do that with cheap lights, I can only imagine my next grow with this HLG. I cant wait! The journey starts tomorrow. Ha. Cheers man. I think most any light will work, if you know what you're doing. Although if I'm dedicating my time. I want the goods. Cheers bud!
Hell ya. Go big or go home, lol.

I would get the spider farmer sf40000. It puts the same watts as the horticulture lights and not even half of the 1200 dollars you’d pay for it. Vivosun has a 4x4 tent that’s 80” high for a hundred bucks with the same diamond mylar inside @98% reflectivity. The sf is only 450 dollars and you can get 20% off of that if you write them and tell them you plan on buying it. I only paid 380 for mine and it puts out 480 watts easy. I’m growing two gelatos with the 4000 and it’s putting them colas out everywhere like beer cans and there loving it like McDonald’s. Ba da dah dah dah.
Bit late mate he went the far better option and got the HLG!!

Lay off the acid.

The HLG 350R is $495 after the discount.
Yeah that’s 350 watts for 500 dollars and I got 130 more watts at 2.9 Jls with the same diodes for a hundred dollars less. Both lights are good lights. Even canucks is blasting the 4000 in his 5x5. Hlgs are good lights there 650 is 1200 dollars alone. its too overpriced for what others are offering. Viperspectra even has the same materials now but they waited till there 7000 came out and it’s 500 something as well before they decided to get smart and sell it for the market value. If I was pitching 500 dollars on a light I’d save and get the 650 hlg.

Led is the way to go. Even at 450 watts my electric is half of its old cost. I was averaging I think 3.00 dollars a day with the hps lights. Now it’s only 1.36 a day worth usage daily. I Also got an iplantop 1500 that puts out 180 watts with 120 v that I use for seedlings and early veg. I use to use the 20000 lumen corncob hps bulbs from sunshine company with warm leds at flower. The only problems Ive had from the 4000 is the centers par is far more than any plant needs and it light stresses the buds right at finish and turns them really yellow. I’ve never had to put it past 80% cause the par reaches almost 1600 maybe more at max. I’m in flower now and only running at 60% in a 4x4 tent and I have two autos covered in frost with three weeks left to go. All I was doing was recommending a light that’s all worth the money. I don’t recommend the tent though unless that matters. For price it’s cheap and Cloud lab or gorilla tents prob wins that bid. The stitches on vivosun is horrible like a sweatshop sewed it. It’s Worth the hundred for the Mylar and metal poles.

But it's not 2.9 ppf/w... It cannot be if you know how to calculate it. It's not a random thing that spiderfarmer or mars never done what all serious light mfers do: make an independent sphere test confirming their claims and then touting it around the net as if they were Mack Daddy.
Also they don't even claim 2.9 on their web page, it's 2.7 on the 4000. Which is still quite likely BS.

Of course it will grow fat bud though in the right hands :) we grow with even older chips and they do fine, but we use massive amounts; 3200 leds per 4x4 and 480 w.

Just a different name  I'd be surprised if anything was as advertised. The confidence in led knockoffs is stroooong  I've never seen anyone with a fake Gucci purse arguing with someone who has the real thing, yall are just wild bongsmilie
Congrats to the op for purchasing a quality light. A lot can be known about a man by the tools he chooses to use. You don't see the lead tech at a respected dealership using a harbor freight torque wrench when he's doing heavy engine work.
. Before anybody jumps my shit, I've used my fair share of cheap tools, because sometimes you don't have a choice. But I've never carried my cheap tools over to a buddy's snap on chest and argued that my stuff was the same as his, with just a different name. A snap on ratchet and a harbor freight ratchet look similar, but its what you can't see that's important.

What deems spider farmer a knockoff light from a sf4000, and an hlg. they both have the same items with just a different company name And price by half. They were smart enough to make it affordable instead of charging a grand. Only difference is the board is a bit thicker than an hlg and it holds temperature a bit more cause it’s fanless. So if someone had a choice to buy two sf4000s for one grand to get almost 800 watts worth diodes or 1200 for one hlg to get 650 watts worth the diodes. The two lights would sell faster than one huge price light to equal 650 watts. That’s how they make that money. More for less. That’s how Jeff jebos made his empire and came the richest man on earth.
