hey all i am just germinating my auto ak's at the moment and was considering sum Low stress training, I was wondering if anyone would advise against this due to the short vegative stage of the auto flower strain, or would it perhaps increase my yield. Cheers in advance!

Nobody responded to this one... any thoughts?? i was thinking of trying this to produce more main colas. As a bonus, if i pop a few Auto's outside, they will look more discreet if i train them. Any thoughts? Anyone tried this?

I have my inside grow going currently, but have a relatively private backyard and was thinking about trying some Auto's outside using this method, and surrounding the Short Rider with some Sage, Rosemary, basil, and chives.

I currently have 5 short rider seeds germinated, i'll tell you how it goes.

I just started germinating my blue mystic autos and i got some LST tools just in case. Every plant and environment is different, resulting in each plant growing differently. I would say determine how fast it grows and how much you expect it to grow during flowering and make the judgment call. I would get some stuff to LST with just in case, it won't hurt.

Any kind of training will not work as well with autos but I suppose LST is the least damaging with the quickest recovery periods. You should only do it with autos if you have to though.

Has anyone ever done a scrog with autos?
You could but again it could be a waste of the auto and it might not make as much bud as if it had grown normally. On the other hand you might get more since all points get equal good light...
who nows

anyone tested this out yet?

i don't know for sure, just input, but i feel like there wouldn't be enough time in veg to really train it like a regular scrog, i think the all training it under a screen would accomplish is to get more light to each branch, which you could do more easily by tying the branches apart, like with string that's attached around the rim of the pot

Yeah that would probably be a lot less work and less stressful for the plant. I think in general though most people feel its best to just leave them alone

Funny how this old thread got bumped, because I'm actually LST'ing autos right now. In fact, you can even top them (I snapped the meristem on one of them about halfway through the grow, she recovered but is about 1ft shorter than the others.) One thing I'd watch out for though is the stretch. My canopy was already full to bursting halfway through, but my girls just kept on growing. Now I'm about 2 weeks from the chop and most of my colas have actually grown PAST my HiD...

Overall I'm impressed with autos, I didn't think they would be so robust. (Yes, I'm a first-time auto grower) I will prob grow them again in the future. My advice though for all indoor auto-growers is to make sure you have enough room.

*Edit* I'd supply pics but my girls are sleeping right now and I'm too cheap to buy a night light.
