i got my seeds in today. ordered from dr chronic about a week ago. lowryder2 and sweet seed's cream caramel fems. i'm planning on keeping one cream caramel as a mother and then hopefully getting atleast 1 female and 1 male out of the lowryders to go the distance so i can have a steady supply of seeds. i'm also thinking about crossing the lowryder and caramel. the cream caramel is a "synthetic variety", what does that mean? any questions, comments, advice, is welcome. once i have something to take pics of, i'll start posting.

i'm germinating 3 lr2 and one cream caramel. has anyone here grown or smoke cream caramel. i just picked this strain because dr chronic was out of the other strain i picked and picked this one on the fly because the name sounded good. i hope that wasn't a mistake

awhile ago i read on here about being able to tell a plants sex by it's taproot. they said if it curled back over itself, then its a female. if it comes out straight, then its a male. if this is true then i've got 2 female lowryder2s and 1 male. i'm going to mark the buckets to see if this theory has some truth. as far as my fem cream caramel, the taproot curled over itself.

so it's been just about a week since i stuck the beans in soil. lights are 18/6 150w hps on the lowryder2s and 18/6 3x2700k cfls on the cream caramel. growth looks really good so far but the first week is always the easiest. i transplanted the cream caramel into a 3gal air basket, you know the containers they use for pond or aquarium plants. there's little slits all over the basket to allow air to penetrate the soil. anyways, i did this already because i could already see the roots trying to peak through the drain holes in the planter. sorry i don't have pics up yet but i need a new battery for my camera. once i deal with that i'll get pics up.

oh and by the way, i have the light 3, maybe 4 inches away from the tops of the lowryder2s with a vent fan blowing between the light and plant tops. i did the hand test and it felt fine. as far as nutes go, they're not getting any yet, but tomorrow i'm going to start them on floragro 2-1-6. i'll start out small, maybe a half tsp per gallon, and the next week maybe 1tsp per gallon. i've used these nutes in the past and my plants got nute burned from G.H.'s mixing recommendations.

suggestions, comments, questions, and opinions are welcome. remember this is my grow journal, please don't hijack it.

it's now day 19 or something close to that. a few days ago i fed the plants with a half strength mix. and yep, you guessed it. nute burn. so i flushed the soil. the lowryder2s got transplanted into 2 gallon bucket planter things. besides the nute burn everything is fine. however, one of my lowryder2s is purple. like lavender purple. i know i didn't get it confused with the cream caramel when i planted. besides i'm not sure if its an actual purple strain or blue. and the leaves are green in this picture
CREAM CARAMEL
and the buds are purple, or blue or whatever. the lowryder's leaves are actually purple. i don't have a decent cam to get a good pic but hopefully soon. this is really interesting

if it was same ones i read, ithink she was expermenting and her plants got fucked up.
did you keep track of staight and hooked..
it would be interesting to see if it worked.personaly i dont think it would work..
you have to be careful with nutes and lrs

weezer i'll get pics up as soon as i get a decent camera that can pick up the purple hues in it. my plants are still pretty small, havent been able to tell sex yet. but i do plan on pollinating for seed. as far as the straight or hooked taproot, i kept track for a bit, but my mom mixed them up (haha yeah my mom) when she took my plants outside because the cable guy had to get into my room. so now it's fucked but if it the myth is true, i should only end up with one male.

wackymack i can use all the knowledge you have on lowryders. i already burned them with nutes and it was only 1/2tsp per gal.

thank you 2 for checking my journal out and posting, i'll definitely work harder to get good pics of them for you

not much to update now. but i have noticed that the purple plant has a very scrawny stem, scrawnier than the others. any ideas why? maybe just a puny plant

i'm using general hydroponics. i havent used them in a while though because it burnt my plants even when using half and quarter strength mixes. i'll get some pics up soon. i'll convince my sister to bring her camera over so i can do it.
